After moving to the area we were pleasantly surprised to find a great restaurant and bar with live music too! The service in the bar is exceptional and be sure to say ‘Hey’ to Missy! The owners are very invested in the community and do amazing work with Meals on Wheels too. Be sure to check it out!

I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for Wahoo Barbecue. Recently, my niece visited the restaurant and felt uncomfortable due to the way other customers were looking at her. Unfortunately, she was the only Black person in the restaurant at the time, and it was clear she was being treated differently. Her boyfriend spoke to the manager about the situation, and I’m truly grateful for how they handled it.
The manager not only listened but also responded with genuine care and empathy. They assured them that they have a zero-tolerance policy for that type of behavior and that no one should feel out of place in their restaurant. To further show their commitment to a welcoming environment, they refunded her meal and even offered a dessert, but honestly, the gesture wasn’t what meant the most to us. The fact that they stood up for my niece, treated her with respect, and made sure she felt heard was what really mattered.
In a time when standing up against discrimination can be difficult, I truly appreciate a business that prioritizes inclusivity and integrity. Wahoo Barbecue has earned my loyalty, and I’ll be sure to recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a positive, welcoming environment.
Thank you for doing the right thing and supporting your customers. We’ll definitely be back.

Just moved here from the New Mexico and Texas area. After experiencing great BBQ out there I was worried about relocating here and trying to find some. Luckily they have great BBQ here! We got smoked wings, pulled chicken, and some brisket and liked it! The sauce selection was pretty good and we enjoyed the meal. The best part about this place is the staff, they make you feel right at home, almost like you’re eating at a nice cookout with family. Definitely recommended!

I visited Wahoo on a recent Saturday afternoon looking to get some smoked goodness. What I experienced was a mixed bag. Staff was ok, but not overly friendly and the dirty fishtank was a turn off.
The brisket was fair, maybe a little overcooked (zero tug) and could have been trimmed a little more. The pulled chicken was good, but the pork was bitter, like they smoked the butts with some harsher woods like oak or mesquite, likey the same as they did the brisket. We season pork differently than beef and I see smoke is a seasoning. The pork was a little bitter and somewhat dry. It should taste good without any sauce.
As for sauces and sides the fries were food service and the beans had a good kick, but we’re also overcooked and mushy. The three table sauces we’re their version of a Caroline swine wine, a smoky mountain sweet and tangy, and an island variety. They might want to add a twangy Texas, Memphis or KC variety as the others are sweet.
Conclusion was that there is good potential and a with a little fine tuning and smoky passion it could be a winner. I’ll check back in a few months to see if I just caught them on an off day.

I am just going to say it: this place is disgusting.
I waited 15 minutes and paid $18 for a pulled chicken sandwich. I got a microwaved sandwich!!
The bun was so hot, it fell apart. The chicken had no taste.
I took a photo before throwing this in the trash!!

Honest review, nothing major. Wahoo BBQ has a calm environment. I use to mostly sit in the bar side and I was told that they have the best bbq. That’s an understatement because their bbq has no taste, the only thing that has taste is the sauce. I’ve had their Texas Twinkie that has their brisket etc in it and the brisket has no flavor only the ranch sauce had flavor. The environment is cool and all but it gets boring fast. The servers are sweethearts but wahoo bbq has no soul in my opinion. I’ve had better bbq at cookouts. I’m not here to deteriorate anyone from going to wahoo to try them out but go on a soft note.

Love the food here and I’ve never had a bad meal. However they do play favorites to their local crowd and I’ve witnessed tables sat well after me and my family get their food before our appetizers even arrived. When we have family from New York and Pennsylvania down there’s not many options locally so we always come here. Do I blame the waitresses for their frustration with some family members? No I do not — but it is embarrassing to sit through on both ends. We sincerely hope our next family outing to Wahoo doesn’t result in waiting over 45 minutes for our food from time of ordering and watching other tables get much better service because the waitresses know them by name.

The food was so good. Got the wahoo sampler platter, all the food was good the wings were my favorite and the Texas Twinkies were so much better than I was expecting. All the sauces were amazing too. Service was a little slow but otherwise good. Went over to the bar side after for a drink and the prices literally can’t be beat. So reasonable.
