Wahaka Taco | Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Warren, OH
Reviews
Not sure what some of the other reviews are on about. It’s a new spot and maybe they were seeing some of the growing pains early on. It is a different style of Mexican food than your typical chains…this is a GOOD thing.
Whaka Taco changed that up.
High quality food, nicely prepared, beautifully presented. A diverse menu. Great value lunch menus. $8 for two tacos, two side, chips and salsa is good in my book.7 min from orders to food on the table.
There is room for improvement. Prices on non-specials are high. Seven buck for street corn is off the wall. The rice and black beans were bland, seemingly ununseasoned.
But Wahaka Taco offered a glimmer of hope for commercial diverse cuisine in the area. They do Grub Hub and DoorDash. But add delivery fees and surcharges to already high prices and it isn’t worth it.
That said, it’s great food. Try it.
The employees were very nice, kind, hospitable and every other good thing you could say. Professional and accommodating service.
The atmosphere appeared to be an authentic Mexican setting. I loved the appearance of the place.
Soooo… why the 3 star rating instead of 5 star? With the first three things I mentioned it would absolutely, unequivocally be a 5 star rating. I wanted to stay and eat there at the inside high tops or outside tables with umbrellas, but I need a restroom readily available. You have inside and outside seating but no restrooms. I would love to bring my wife here to grab something to eat sometime. I can’t do it because I need a restroom readily available. There are no public restroom facilities and I live 20 minutes away.
This stop was in passing and I would definitely be back if I’m passing by, which is rare, and need to grab and go. But… with no restrooms this is not a destination for us to go eat out at.
I cannot rate a food service location with 4 or 5 stars if it has seating available but doesn’t even have a restroom.
I still recommend giving them a shot and hope you get the experience that we had with our first visit.
talking about flavor and poor quality, because I haven’t experienced that yet!
First time trying I got the carnitas street tacos. Everything normally on them, added some of the regular salsa, and they were good! Maybe if anything just needed a little salt and garlic. Second time trying I got the chicken street tacos and that seasoned chicken was SO good I also tried the chipotle salsa and it was SO SO good. 3 tacos, smaller corn shells, full, messy but filling! Last time we ordered I got the chicken street tacos again with the guac and chips – I could have ate that guac for days. Well balance of flavor. I also tried a few variations of their freeze drink and boba… hooked
And pricing is fair compared to some other taco places I’ve been to: Condado, Barrio.. those places are good but THOSE are what l’d consider overpriced. Not this.
Can’t wait to eat here again!
