The service was wonderful. Very friendly. The won ton soup was yummy. The rest was not. The crab Rangoons were hallow. I was so excited bc they were big, but I bit into an empty Rangoon. The general Tso chicken was not spicy at all. The fried rice was not good at all. The sesame chicken was ok and the white rice was good. I won’t be ordering food here again.

This is the first time that we decided to try this restaurant because we like to visit locally owned places as they tend to have the best food, in my opinion. I had such high hopes for this place, given the reviews and the long term patrons that seem to frequent the establishment, But alas, I was disappointed. My food was all beige, the flavor was lackluster, I mean seriously this is something that I could have prepared in my own kitchen (actually, it would have been better) the green peppers would’ve been crispier and more colorful the onions would’ve been crunchier and more flavorful and the steak would not have been over cooked and slathered in a overly sweet sauce.

Sometimes it’s good, other times not so much. We’ve actually had tummy troubles (not food poisoning or near that level, just disagreement) more than once. I think it’s maybe the oil needs to be changed, but I could be wrong. I’m on the fence as I’ve eaten it multitudes of times and it’s been good (not great) more than not… If not for the upset stomachs one 3 separate occasions, I would give 3 stars, but it wasn’t just me to experience it after… So 2 is what seems appropriate.

If you know, you know. This place is a treasure. It already has a huge fan base, and so doesn’t even need my review. I’ve been eating here for 27 years. It is unique to any other restaurant. Since the pandemic has changed the world, they have made the decision to operate as carry out only. The food is still the best Chinese carry out you can get in our landlocked state. I live three hours away now, and when I visit family in the area I try to time my drive so that I can pick some up on the way home.

Food was OK and the entree portion was good. They are getting 2 stars because they don’t give enough rice and the crab Rangoon was not filled at all. We ordered 2 entrees and only got 1 container of rice on top of an upcharge for fried rice. I called to inquire and was told they put both rice portions in one container- This is the same size container that every Chinese restaurant ever uses for rice for 1entree. Of all the ways to save a buck. Your cheapness just lost you a customer- won’t be back.

I’ve been coming to the Wah Yuen since I was a child- it’s my favourite restaurant on the square. It’s a Sunbury staple. The food is immaculate. The service is fast and friendly. Their shrimp fried rice is a dish I would die for. The family that owns this place is so sweet, I really feel like family every time I come and eat there. They really make you feel at home. I couldn’t ask for a better place to get some comfort food.
