Wafu Nelson is an absolute gem! Honestly, the food here is seriously next-level. Everything was so fresh and vibrant, you could tell how much care went into every piece. But the best part? Getting to watch the chef work right in front of us, you can just see the artistry and passion in how they prepare it. Great atmosphere, and the staff were awesome. Highly recommend!

The sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious. We had calamari, vegetable tempura, mixed sashimi, tuna sashimi and sushi. We just couldn’t stop ordering!

We absolutely loved it! We were lucky to get the chef’s table where we could see our dishes while they were being prepared. It was amazing. And the food was really awesome, paired with some very nice sake to make it a beautiful evening. Thank you Wafu team!

Was visiting Nelson and dining solo, so sat at the only spot left – at the sushi bar. It was mesmerizing watching the obviously very skilled chef making nigiri and sashimi right in front of me! The service was fantastic and friendly, the food was great and overall vibe really nice. It’s a cool room, and a very pleasant dining experience. Highly recommend.

So many great reviews, but pretty disappointed tbh. Food was very average, tempura wasnt even cooked properly, $30 for a sushi roll that was smaller tjan a $12 one from st pierres amd $10 for 3 small pieces of under cooked tempura veg. A few drinks and it was $285 for 2 of us. Extremely expensive and unfortunately wouldnt recommend.

What a great place. Visited alone, was seated at the bar in front of the chef, and had a chat with him – he’s Japanese, you’ll be in good hands. The tuna sashimi were fresh & delicious, followed by a sushi roll, so smooth. Fresh beyond doubt. Wish such a place was in my town, would come back any time…
