There were only two guys working at the time that I went, one had long scraggly hair and no hair net, wearing an ear pod, the other was wearing sunglasses indoors while working (maybe he had eye surgery?) and sagging jogging pants. Their presentation as food workers is pretty unnacceptable. Their behaviour was something else too.
When I first walked in, the kitchen was messy and there was pancake mix aaaall over the waffle maker. The bar counter where you eat and pay was dirty, too. Whenever I was talking to earpods guy for my order he was mumbling and I had to ask multiple times what he said. When it came time to pay, I called out for the guy wearing the earpod (the other guy wasn’t there at that time) and, as I knew was going to happen, he didn’t hear me like 5 times. He also didn’t track my order so I had to tell him which meal I got, and then he took a quick look at the prices and just rounded the price instead of adding the TWO ITEMS together, this after again I had to ask him to repeat himself a few times (you’d think a person would get a clue and speak up at some point).
I could see the way they were working while I waited and while eating, it was pretty disorganized and sometimes seemingly uncaring.
I watched sunglasses guy take a waffle with a spatula over something low to the ground on the other side of the bar (I’m guessing a trash can), and then pause, pulled back and moved to put it on a plate instead before pausing again, deliberating for a solid 5 seconds on (I’m guessing) whether he should throw it away or not before finally placing it on the plate. Very odd. Looking back, I wonder if he saw me behind his sunglasses catching him in the act and froze in indecision.
Another time a tin can fell onto the grill and both guys stood there staring at it for like 10 whole seconds like they didn’t know what to do about it, before one of them started pushing it around with a ladle or spoon along the grill trying to push it upright.
The place is a moderate size but was pretty dead when I went but had a lot of room for a lot more customers. What do they do when it gets busy?
