We stopped at this Waffle House late at night during an emergency trip to get supplies. The highways were in horrible condition, and my son has a broken collarbone, so he was in a lot of pain from the constant bouncing. We needed a short break before continuing our drive home.
We came inside, ordered food, spent over $100 and gave the cook and waitress a tip for making our order to go. After we finished eating, we stayed in our vehicle in the parking lot to let my son rest for about 40 minutes. There were no other cars in the parking lot, and we were quiet, respectful, and paying customers—so we assumed this would not be an issue.
Without warning, the cook came outside banging hard on our vehicle and told us we had to leave. I’d like to point out that our truck is lifted and has tinted windows so she had no idea if we were on a phone call, writing an email, dealing with a medical emergency or even if we were sleeping.. I do not appreciate her touching my vehicle whatsoever. I guess I was unaware of a time limit on how long a customer could be on the premises. Without argument we politely said okay. Within minutes, she had already called the police. When the officer arrived, he stated he saw absolutely no problem with us being there, especially since we were the only vehicle in the lot and had just paid as customers. He even advised us to write a detailed review because of how poorly we were treated.
Being told to leave, and having the cops called, after spending over $100 and trying to care for an injured child was humiliating, stressful, and completely unnecessary. This was, without question, the worst experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant.
There was zero compassion, zero understanding, and zero customer service. We will not be returning.
Love the cheese steak / hash rown bowls
The Bun waste saturated in grease.
The lettuce was brown. I showed it to the waitress, and give the lettuce and told her to throw it away . Didn’t ask me if I wanted fresh lettuce.Just threw in in the garage and walked away. Then I asked the cook for a new bun. He asked me if I wanted it grilled, and I said no, because I figured it would be saturated in grease again. The women working were behind the counter talking loud, cussing, with a lot of F bombs. The cook was extremely loud. Laughing so loud, it was very annoying. The experience there was very disruptive when I trying to just eat.
I won’t ever go back to that piticular waffle house.
