WHERE ARE MY ONIONS?
What is the deal with Waffle House and onions now? THE PATTY MELTS COME WITH ONIONS. You shouldn’t have to ask me if I want them, and I def shouldn’t have to remember to request them. However, if I am ordering a menu item that is made a certain way and I’d like for you to hold an ingredient, it is my responsibility to request that you omit it; as it should be.
Half the time now, the server doesn’t even ask if I want onions included, they just ignore that crucial element of the patty melt and refrain from including them at all.
This time, the server specifically asks if I want them, to which I replied with an emphatic “Yes Please!” However, much to my dismay, the onion is absent.
This pattern is consistent with every Waffle House I dine at now. Is this some sort of directive from corporate or something… To dissuade onion use?
I ORDER A PATTY MELT, I WANT MY SAUTEED ONIONS! STOP BEING STINGY W THE ONIONS!!
And as far as this location goes, their food used to be the best… You used to be able to dine inside late-night… Neither are true anymore.

As always, the food was great Waffle House food! I tried a waffle with the ‘blueberry nougat’ (really stepping out of my comfort zone) and it was delicious. I’m still not 100% what blueberry nougat is comprised of; but it’s good! And our server, Didi, was a ray of sunshine. Ask for her if you visit the Irondale location.
My biggest complaint would have to be the cleanliness, or lack thereof, in the bathroom and under our table. If I hadn’t been so hungry I would call it unappetizing. The bathroom needs a thorough Clorox scrub.

I haven’t been to a Waffle House in years, but my kid really wanted to go for dinner so we did. This location has the best reviews and now I know why. It was great! Our server was very friendly and got us everything we needed quickly. The food was exactly what we hoped for, served up hot and quick. When you want the Waffle House experience, this is a great one to visit.

Typing this as I sit, it has been 30 minutes the server has not given us or the 5 people who have walked in a drink but he has obsessively sorted and resorted the tickets about 6 times and then avoids us to serve the last people in. we got here at 10:30 it is now 1105 and he is now taking EVERY ORDER he avoided while mumbling and avoiding eye contact through the serving process so if the other waffle house had inside dining we’d be there happily eating

This is the best Waffle House in town- leagues better than the new one just a few minutes down the road! I’ve always enjoyed coming to this Waffle House. The staff is always nice and attentive and food is always good. My boyfriend and I had an especially great experience here the other weekend though- we came in around 11:00am on Sunday not realizing that we were just in time for the after-church rush. It was packed, with several people waiting ahead of us to be seated. I wasn’t sure if we would have time to wait before I had to leave for my job at noon. Well, probably within five minutes they had a booth cleared and cleaned for us and we were seated. We ordered, and got our food out lightning fast. I checked the clock and they had gotten us seated, fed, and brought our ticket in less than 20minutes! It was amazing! I seriously commend the staff at this location, they’re kind and run a tight ship and push out good food. I was very thankful and impressed by the great service, even more so considering how busy and loud it was in there. Good people

I regularly come to this Waffle House at least 3 times a week yesterday April 11 I was accompanied by a few of my friends. We proceed to go to my regular Waffle House because I love that the cook knows my order and exactly how I like it cooked. This particular day we had a male server one I have seen a few times but never been served by him personally. As the man walked to our table we were beginning to smell an intense odor coming from the servers body. He proceeds to take the order with an attitude as if he didn’t want to do anywork. I observed that his skin seemed to have dirt on it as well as underneath his fingernails. I didn’t want to be rude and say anything to him personally I would much rather talk to a member of management over this establishment about my entire service on this day. We allow him to take our order he proceeds to tell the gentleman on the grill our order and as I’ve been here plenty of times I over hear him calling out our order incorrectly so when he finished I nicely asked him to step over to double check if our order was correct. When he proceeded to repeat the order to me it sounded correct but I knew something would be off. We wait about 45 minutes which was unexplainable because the store at the time was not busy and our food was ready and sitting. I see our server just playing on his phone taking pictures and different things. I asked him if we could get our food he proceeds to huff and puff while getting our food. We finally receive the order and the food by the time we got it was completely cold but my main problem was the lingering Oder that was left around our table on our plates and anytime the man walked spend. There should not be any person working around food with a body odor. I would greatly appreciate if a member of management would reach out to me about this experience. I think the servers name was Samuel he was a heavy set white man
