I went back…. Their freshly brewed coffee is sooo good! I ordered the chicken and egg scrambled platter.
Amazing, one of a kind staff. I ordered breakfast to go over the phone and picked up. It was almost done by the time I got here. The location is perfect, right on Price and Sumter, near the City Hall.
The prices are good and service is outstanding. It’s usually very packed each time I passed. I’m so happy that there is one in North Port. The dessert menu is really nice as well. It’s not only a breakfast place. You can go in anytime for dessert and coffee❤️❤️❤️❤️ with your loved ones!
Waiter Mel is awesome
Manager Skyler, she is a machine!
Do stop in !
Let’s talk about Luke for a second—because this guy is phenomenal at what he does. From the moment you walk in, he greets you with a genuine smile that lets you know you’re more than just another table to him. His customer service is on a level you don’t often find these days—attentive, friendly, and effortlessly cool without being overbearing. The man somehow manages to make every customer feel like they’re a regular, even if it’s your first time walking through the door.
Now, I’ve been to a lot of Waffle Houses, and I’ve seen all kinds of servers—some are good, some are just there for the paycheck. But Luke? He’s different. He cares. And it shows in everything he does. The man doesn’t miss a beat—your drink gets low, he’s already there with a refill. He checks in regularly—not in that annoying way some servers do where they interrupt your meal every five minutes—but at just the right time. He has this sixth sense for knowing when you need something.
Let me give you an example. I shook my cup of ice—you know, the universal “Hey, I need more drink” signal—and before I even had a chance to turn and look for him, Luke was already at my side with a refill. No words exchanged except for one simple, sincere question: “Is your food good?” And yes, it was good. It always is at this location, and a lot of that has to do with the attention and pride that Luke clearly puts into making sure everything is just right.
The man is a walking Waffle House legend. And can we just talk about his killer mustache and cool tattoos? It’s not just his service that’s on point—his style is, too. He’s got that effortlessly chill vibe that somehow makes the whole dining experience feel more relaxed, more enjoyable. It’s like being served by a rockstar who just happens to know how to top off your coffee without you asking. You can’t teach that kind of presence. He just has it.
It’s not just Luke, either—the whole place is impressively clean. You don’t always expect that at a 24-hour diner, but the North Port Waffle House clearly takes pride in its appearance. Tables are spotless, the counter is wiped down regularly, the floors don’t have that greasy feel you sometimes find in similar spots. Even the bathrooms were clean—which, let’s be honest, is a miracle at a diner during a busy shift. It’s clear that the staff, under whatever management they have, runs a tight ship. But Luke is the glue that holds it all together when it comes to customer experience.
I honestly can’t say enough good things about this guy. He deserves a raise. Not a pat on the back, not a “good job” during a team meeting, but a real, honest-to-goodness raise. I’ve seen him juggle six tables, manage the counter, keep drinks full, chat kindly with a toddler, and still make time to check in on the older couple in the corner who just wanted their eggs scrambled right. That’s not just being a good server. That’s professionalism. That’s pride. That’s someone who makes people want to come back.
And I do come back. Again and again. And every time, Luke is there with that same energy, same consistency, and the same customer-first mindset. In a world where service often feels rushed or impersonal, Luke is a standout example of what hospitality should look like.
So here’s the bottom line: if you’re ever near the North Port Waffle House and you want great food served hot, a clean space to enjoy it in, and absolutely top-tier service from a guy who looks like he could moonlight in a band and still show up early for his shift—ask for Luke. Shake your ice. Sit back. He’s got you.
Great disappointment. Normally, we really enjoy Waffle House. But not this one.
