However, the experience around the food was pretty mediocre. The restaurant was fairly dirty, even by diner standards; almost every empty table had sticky rings or crumbs from the previous guest, and it stayed that way the whole time I was there. The service was ‘there’ but barely. My server wasn’t rude, but she was definitely in her own world, and I had to ask twice for a coffee refill while the staff stood around the counter chatting.
In short: the cook knows what they’re doing, but the front-of-house needs to put down the phones and pick up a cleaning rag. It’s fine for a late-night emergency or a quick breakfast if you aren’t picky about cleanliness, but with so many other breakfast spots in Niceville, it’s definitely not a first choice.”
With that aside the food was surprisingly good and the waitress Maricel was super attentive and friendly. And I must say the price of the food is unbeatable. I will definitely be back to a waffle house.
I have been coming to this Waffle House for almost two years since I moved to bluewater. My review is based on my recent visits.
Absolutely horrible service some of the worst I have received. The service you get from two servers at this location depends on how much they like you as far as I can tell. They will shout at you from behind the counter instead of walking to where you sit as normal servers do. They did not introduce themeselves, ask anything nice such as how are you/how’s it going/ ect. Just what do you want to order or are you ready to order as one of the first things said to me. No refills were offered until after I had been writing a note to leave for hopefully management to see. As I was packing up my food to leave is when I got offered more water. My water had been empty for most of the time. I shouldn’t have to ask for every single thing. They forgot my jam, my butter, ect. They set things on the table with such attitude. The white lady (did not read her name tag and she never introduced herself) gave us a side of gravy on a dirty plate she had previously taken from us. Absolutely disgusting and rude. She put her hand over the table and opened her fist to put down my butter and jam. Saying here’s your “stuff” giggled and walked away. I could go on, this was my worst experience here. Last time was bad but I am astonished. I will not be coming back, I have never not tipped before. I know servers often depend on tips. At my job I appreciate every single tip. However you can’t be rude, disrespectful, cold, so many words I could put here and still expect a tip. I don’t know if it is laziness, prejudice (this only happens when I come with my girlfriend but we don’t even kiss or anything so I’m not sure they would know that), or just outright bad service. However I watch how they treat other people and they get much better service or at least human decency. I was not even given human decency as service.
Sidenote: a man behind the counter said “I’m a man, I don’t do anything unless I get something out of it.” Terrible joke, not a joke actually. Explain how that is funny? I don’t believe this about every man but those with that mentality are scum. Sometimes you’re nice just to be nice. I tipped last time even with terrible service. But this time my meal was ruined, my stomach still hurts, and I’m so disappointed. I will find a way to make my complaints heard. I’ve never had these experiences at Waffle House before. I love Waffle House. Do better
I was visiting my parents.
Their anniversary fell on Easter Sunday this year. Quite the celebration. I stayed in the hotel next door and had the wonderful pleasure of meeting some of the wonderful staff there at Waffle House.
Everyone was so super helpful as I really was unfamiliar with the menu and some of the ways we order the food the way we want it. In fact, everyone was so gracious and supportive, and they did better than a really great job!
If you get a chance to eat at this waffle house, I assure you! … Friendly customer service and great food is what you can expect!
Thank you. God bless the Waffle House staff and God Bless America!
