I recently visited the Waffle House in Middleburg, Florida, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. What really made my visit memorable was the short order cook who prepared my meal. He was undoubtedly one of the best I’ve encountered in Florida, and the food was simply delicious.

I was under the assumption that this was a 24 hour establishment. Me and my friends pulled up at 10 o’clock, ready to come and eat. As we were walking through the parking lot, we got horrified stares from all of the staff. It immediately put us off, and we made the decision to turn around and go to a more friendly quality restaurant, like whataburger. Partly for fear of our safety. We were prepared to dine and leave a nice, generous tip. These people chose to do this job, we should not be run off for choosing ands wanting to come and eat. We have had a long day, and some us of were very hungry for hashbrowns. This is not, nor will it ever be a waffle home. Do better. I will not be coming back.

As always food was delicious the waitress an ancient cigarette roughened voiced lady was prompt with food and beverages. There’s just something about Wafflehouse that brings a flood of memories of meals eaten fun times had and the sense of consistency never failing food and familiar surroundings.

This location we’ve been to many times, never had bad food nor terrible service. You get exactly what you’d expect at a national 24hr breakfast chain. Prices are still affordable in this market, so great for them to keep that in check.

Service is below average. The ladies and gentlemen working look burned out. We watched a waitress grimace when she found out she had to wait on a table of six. Our waiter never smiled. We had to get my eggs redone because the first ones came out incorrect. When I asked for a diet to go I got a cup for what I hadn’t finished. Which after thirty minutes was mostly water down flavorless nothing. I think they just wanted to get us ‘in and out’. The food itself was good.

He made my visit even better….he admitted to making the grits (always my favorite) before I could tell him how delicious they were and my waffle was just the way I wanted it. I will be back soon!
