Jesse and I did the Waffle House Valentine’s Day reservation dinner in Lake City and I’m not being dramatic when I say… it was one of the coolest, most unexpectedly romantic experiences ever.
Jesse booked it there on purpose because we lived, truck drove out of Lake City for many years, and it will always be a special place to us. So the fact that we got to celebrate there, under the iconic yellow sign, made it feel even sweeter.
About an hour before our reservation, we got a call to confirm that we were still coming. The girl on the phone was so kind, cheery, and upbeat… it honestly added to the mystery and excitement like we were headed to a fancy secret dinner.
When we walked in… Y’ALL.
They had the place decorated to the nines. Every table had festive tablecloths, heart-shaped candles, rose petals, a reserved sign, and even a little picture holder that said “Love” at the base. The silverware was wrapped in heart-shaped napkins (I mean???) and they even had a Photo Booth so you could take pictures, and they sent us home with a keepsake photo!
And at the kissing booth, the store manager dressed us, which honestly made it even more fun and added so much to the experience. ❤️
And the hostess??
Biggest smile. Glitter on her cheeks. Pure sunshine energy. The whole staff was dressed to impress, black pants, red button-downs, pink ties, and everyone went out of their way to make us feel special. Like genuinely special.
And yes… the food was exactly what I wanted. Because let’s be real: if I’m doing Valentine’s Day, I want romance and waffles. ❤️
And the only way to truly enjoy the pecan waffle is with a slice of pecan pie smashed all over the top! You’ll think of me later, trust me.
Waffle House called for couples to “meet under the sign” and accept the challenge, and Jesse and I were more than happy to.
And when we left, they even gave us our own Valentine card. Like… are you kidding me?!
The whole night was magical, funny, sweet, and honestly just unforgettable.
10/10 recommend.
If you ever get the chance to do Waffle House Valentine’s Day, DO IT.
Because nothing says true love like candlelight, rose petals, and hash browns. ✨
BUT, besides the food and the proximity to my house, I really go to say hello to the awesome staff.
Last winter my husband and I went in and we had lost like $20 and couldn’t pay for the entire order. The wonderful and lovely server, her name is Jaime i believe, she put the money in out of her tips to help us out.
We made sure we were able to pay her back plus a little extra for her pocket just in time for the Christmas holiday. I love this place because you don’t find people like that just walking around, helping when they can today. We are lucky to have this spot right around the corner.
