It took me 49yrs to get to a Waffle House… its like I wasted half my life. Staff was kind, food was total comfort food. Traveling for work, im a stranger in a strange land, but for 30min… I felt at home. Thank you.

It was Christmas Eve, so it was very busy, which was expected. All of the tabled were taken, and the counter was filled. The four men working were run ragged, but had no control over the room. There was no bussing of tables, and one of the staff had big, curly hair touching his collar and spilling out of the front in his face. Jason, the server who helped us, was friendly and overwhelmed. It was a culinary crap shoot.

What can anyone say about Waffle House other than it’s Waffle House? If you’ve been to one you’ve been to them all. I’ve been to 3 or 4 between Texas and Georgia and they have essentially been carbon copies of each other.
The restaurant near the islands here was right on par. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the food was identical to other stores. If you’re looking for a fancy place, WH isn’t it. It’s friendly enough for families, but no one is going to call it “nice.” It’s basically a breakfast dive in franchise form. Honestly, McDonald’s is more high end feeling.
Of course that’s not why you go to WH. I actually do really like the food, and you can’t beat the price. If you’re in the south you have to try it once. Make a stop on the way out to the islands on your next visit.

1 star because one of the cooks (short stocky white guy with glasses and brown hair) wasnt wearing any hair covering while cooking
update: went back today hoping it was just a one time thing, only for a female cook to have no hair net or hat, the same guy from before cooking my waffles without gloves or hair covering and 2 other guys walking who were managers of others stores coming in and cooking with no hats at all

I called in an order for pick-up this past Sunday afternoon and I received exceptional service! The employee who took my order was very polite and welcoming over the phone and in person. My order was ready to go when I got there and was still fresh/hot. I have eaten at this location several times. It’s been a year and this time when I went in it was very dirty. Dirty like it hadn’t been maintained in months. So sad because I really enjoy eating there but if that’s how they care about the dining room it reflects on how they don’t nt care about food sanitation.
