I’ve been coming to this particular Waffle House for the past two years. I always make sure I stop by when I am in Gastonia, North Carolina. This was my first time coming after they shut down and under their new management. Doesn’t matter the time of day, the food is always consistently bomb! The All-Star Breakfast will always be my go to. Waffles, hashbrowns scattered and peppered, and scrambled eggs with American cheese ❤️

Christmas Nightmare.. i realize the day, but it was not packed, there were open booths and seats at the bar when we got there. We waited an hour and 15 minutes and all we got was coffee… no apology, no excuses, no updates, we got coffee, one refill, then ignored… at one point in time there was 8-10 employees at the grill, I’m not sure what was going on but they couldn’t figure it out, it looked like they had at least 20 plus tickets they were sorting through. People were getting tired of waiting, walking out and they never stopped to check if the tickets they were filling actually still had customers there, we saw one plate of food after another go in the trash. If the server would have said to us, this order is going in the trash because the people left, I know it’s not what you ordered but idk when I can have your food out, would you like a chicken sandwich instead? ABSOLUTELY WE WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT!! At one point we were only one of five tables and still no one said anything to us, with plenty of employees standing around stressed and complaining about the mess they were in. Not their fault, I overheard several of them say there was no manager there. They desperately needed direction. Idk how the confusion happened, but they weren’t capable of figuring it out on their own. The handful of tickets got passed from one person to another, one grill completely empty, maybe eggs on the other, no one making waffles, toast or grits. Alot of stressed, confused employees doing nothing productive to try to resolve the confusion and get back on track.
It was 9 pm when we got there, I had my 89 year old mother with me, we were from out of town, she HAD to have food to take her meds, at 10:15 pm we left. If anyone had acknowledged what was going on, offered us at least a piece of toast for my mom, and a realistic eta of when we would get food, we would have stayed. Instead we hit QT on our way home, and we didn’t get home until midnight. Sometimes just a little communication changes the entire situation. And yes, I could have ask for a piece of toast, but all of the employees were complaining between themselves, kept running to the back and out of sight, they had blinders on to their customers, they couldn’t be bothered with us. Frustrating to say the least.
One positive, when we first sat down Brandi (I think is her name, she had on a Holly Dolly Christmas shirt) brought us coffee, was so nice, made my MIL a fresh pot of decaf and told her they would be a little wait for it cuz they didn’t have any made, great communication, but I guess we weren’t her area cuz she introduced our waiter and told us he would be taking over our table for her, our waiter brought us a refill later and he never spoke to us or made eye contact with us again. We did see Brandi trying her best to get things straightened out but it didn’t appear anyone was interested in what she had to say.
My husband comes from a family that owns multiple restaurants so we are very understanding, very forgiving, very patient and very tolerant, but the server needs to be able to communicate to the customers for them be this way. Training, training, training… they need more training and a manager on site.

The main reason I give five stars here is the cheerful service. While waiting for the take our order on Christmas day, I enjoyed watching the happy employees and servers laughing and enjoying each others company as they cooked, served and took orders. They obviously like each other and get along well. That’s refreshing in our increasingly grouchy world. The order was a little slow in getting ready, but I’m still giving five stars because of the cheerful atmosphere here.

Ordered a takeout at Waffle House on Remount rd. Waitress not only overcharged on order, but added 20% tip on the takeout order. I questioned the amount and she stated she added a tip- not asking or apologetic. This is unacceptable. Be careful when you order there. There were people there so I didn’t want to cause a scene.

Under new management and it is perfect, the food is top tier, the eggs over medium are absolute perfection and so were the grits and hashbtowns, this is what I’m talking about from a waffle house!! Nice looks and good time and delicious food!! That’s how you run a waffle house!!

You walk in and the whole restaurant greets you with a smile. The staff enjoy working with each other and serving their customers with the best service! After I left one location for bad service, we came here and it was a complete turn around. Truly made our day! Shout out to Keith for making us feel welcome! The food was incredible, made to perfection. I was upset I couldn’t eat it all

This Waffle House was the most mouthwatering experience! Everything was made fresh to order. Farm fresh ingredients. Staff was so friendly and checked on us multiple times. The cook from 2p-9p was spectacular at his work. We had breakfast at 730p. I’m going back again and again. My son told me to visit, but he should have MADE ME GO! Check out the photos! Get a cup of coffee, man oh man, smooth. I’ll see you there…

Waffle house is not known to be the cleanest place in town, but this place was right beside of a Cracker Barrel and we initially thought we were going to eat at Cracker Barrel but instead we changed our mind after Cracker Barrel had a 25 minute wait. So we went to waffle house and was so impressed by Miss Jen and her speed and the freshness of the food and it tasted so good and Miss Jen was so sweet. We still haven’t gotten a message from Cracker Barrel saying that our seat is ready and we’re back on the road again

Super busy on a Labor Day morning. Staff was excellent. Our wait for a seat was only a couple minutes. About 10 to 15 minutes for food to come after ordering but the best part was that everything came out as ordered, hot and delicious. Howe was our server and he went above and beyond with friendly and uplifting service.

My mother & I went here hoping to get a hot breakfast after we got off work at 3:00am. Very exhausted and drowsy.
The waiter with the egg costume on for Halloween as of 10/31/2025 was very irritated & agitated. Her & another server were in the car smoking cigarettes & then waiting on my food. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
And then the security or “ body guard” didn’t even want to help after the server THREW syrup at my mother. My lawyers will be hearing about this.
