Waffle Cafe in Manteca offers a delightful dining experience with a friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and convenient parking, making it a great spot for groups of all sizes.

Food & Value Assessment

The food here is genuinely great across the board, and the drinks are good. However, the sizing and pricing warrant a specific mention. Even the dishes that seem to be on the “smaller” side of the menu can still be quite large a detail that might be helpful for future visitors deciding on their order.
On the other hand, a particular dish, the “2 pigs in a blanket,” felt a little pricy given the portion size, specifically the sausage which was noticeably on the smaller side while the pancakes were large. While the quality is great, guests should be aware that some specialty items might not offer the best value for the amount of food received.

Atmosphere and Service

The staff and the overall atmosphere are major highlights. The waiters are great, providing attentive and friendly service. The cafe is clean and welcoming, ensuring a pleasant visit. We also had no problem finding parking, which is always a huge plus in a busy area.
Facilities Note
While the main dining experience is top-notch, the bathrooms were just okay, and the toilets barely worked. This is a minor but important detail that would benefit from improvement to match the high standard of the rest of the establishment.
Summary
Waffle Cafe is a highly recommended stop in Manteca for a cheerful environment and tasty brunch or lunch. It’s clean, friendly, easy to access, and suitable for any group. Just be mindful of the large portions on the menu and the value of specific items like “2 pigs in a blanket”

I been meaning to review the waffle Cafe. I was so hungry I almost forgot to take pictures again. Breakfasts are huge portions and the service is excellent. The ladies are lovely and attentive. Everything is delicious, especially the breakfast pork chops

Finally went to this restaurant yesterday. I had heard a few people saying it was good so I had to see for myself. I am glad that we visited.
Breakfast is my favorite meal and this place did not disappoint. It is a much larger restaurant then what appears from the street view.
Our waitress was Kayla. She was great. Funny and attentive. Actually it seemed the entire staff was friendly and helpful- now to the food.
Our food was well prepared and come hungry because they give you plenty of food. My wife and I ordered the Denver Omelette. Nice big omelette well made for sure. I ordered the Hash Browns with mine and my wife had their Country Potatoes. She liked hers and I liked mine. Next time I will ask them to be a little crisper, only because it had a nice crunch on the outside and the inside was soft but I like mine a little more cooked – like I said I really like Breakfast. We both ordered a Pancake which was huge and really good. The pancake was the size of a serving plate. (See pictures below). The other person with us ordered the Milwaukee Omelette (Fresh Mushrooms and Swiss Cheese) – seems to be a popular item here.
If you want a good breakfast served by a friendly staff – please pay them a visit.

Edit: They sadly took the Ruben sandwich off the menu. It was my go to, when visiting here.
They do however make a really nice Philly cheese steak sandwich.

I usually get the Ruben sandwich, add onions, tomato, lettuce, extra sauerkraut.

It’s amazing, the meat is so well cooked, and it’s kinda my go to here.

I’m so stuffed I can barely sit up!! The portions are very generous here. The food is so delicious! I ordered The Country Omelette, a biscuit with gravy and a side order pancake. This pancake was the size of a wheel! It was huge. In hindsight, the omelette that came with a biscuit with gravy was more than enough. I’m a really big eater too. For my beverages, I had black coffee, ice water and orange juice.

It’s a BIG restaurant with tons of people! Mostly your families taking mom, or grandma (or both) out. Very much like other diners that offer tons of food for a reasonable price. There seemed to be a lot of servers on this Sunday midday morning. But, we still had difficulty getting their attention without having to get up and wave someone down. One seated us, one brought coffee/water, another took our orders, and yet another brought the food out….a busy restaurant like this needs to have the staff working cohesively like a machine. That wasn’t happening today. Too much confusion as to who was or has done what.
And this place is LOUD LOUD LOUD… expect to yell at the person across from you.
Anyway, our meals did get out to us, if not in several trips, and it was all quite good especially the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were a perfectly light and the gravy rich and just nicely done, as was the chicken fried steak.
This is a good place to go for some good ‘basic’ breakfast/brunch food at a decent price given the current economy is creating food sticker shock on a regular basis.

A bit pricy and too underseasoned for my taste. My wife got a scramble that was missing the gravy it was supposed to come with and my omelet was unnaturally hot. Tried a waffle, because Waffle Cafe, and it was good. But $3.50 for some subpar coffee and $11 for a single waffle? Not for me, thank you. Great atmosphere, very cozy and homey.

4.5 stars. The wait was long, but worth it! I gave them 4.5 stars, because the floors were really sticky, but we aren’t eating on the floors! The food was great, a little more pricey than the corporate joints up the street, but this is a local joint. I ordered the ham steak and eggs. My eggs were cooked to a perfect over medium. I scarfed it down. My husband ordered the French toast, he ate it all. My 2 older daughters ordered Banana and Pecan waffles, and a triple stack with 4 slices of bacon and egg whites. My daughters didn’t eat all their breakfast, but they packed it in a doggy bag. My toddler shared all of our fare; we had enough to share. The servers were very attentive. My husband was brewed a fresh, decaffeinated coffee (he gave up caffeine for lent). Great place to eat, the bathroom was pretty clean. Esthetic wise, an update is needed, but overall the servers and food were great. We will be back.
