We ate at Waffle Bear last week, and we were so impressed. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the pork chops and papusas, but we enjoyed everything that we tried. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I cannot speak highly enough about the experience at this place. It’s easy to miss, but you definitely shouldn’t.

First off this is a hidden gem.
We had a pleasant experience and can say the staff was genuinely happy to help. This is counter service for the most part. Since the restaurant wasn’t busy they sat us and gave menus. We were given great service by Darrin and the food is absolutely amazing.
The waffle was perfectly cooked and the eggs and grits were perfection. My recommendations are Cheech or Closing time.
Definitely large portions and service was fast.

The only thing I would say is the eggs could’ve been cooked a little bit longer but other than that tasted good! I loved the bear pictures on the wall throughout the restaurant! The gentleman was very friendly and ran the place by himself. The only other thing I would say that could be different is on the menu it said this came with 4 tenders and my bf went and asked and he said unfortunately it only comes with 3 now and that he needed to change it on the menu. Also, don’t go off of the menu on Google he only does the items on the menu in the restaurant.

BAD EXPERIENCE! Promised to be open until 4pm and closed at 3:20pm without notice. Staff attitude was EXTREMELY RUDE, treated us like we were bothering them. If a place has a posted hours, they should honor them! We showed up during business hours and were denied service. Do not recommend this place, they’re unreliable and unfriendly. Hope the owner or manager is aware of this disrespect towards customers. 1/5 stars ♂️ ist too much. Today 12/27/2025.

This place was interesting from the outside wasn’t sure I was at the right place. Once inside it’s an older building kinda smells. (Please keep reading)
The man who helped me was very polite and kind. He made me an amazing meal and the value is incredible. Pork chops were cooked perfectly and seasoned correctly. The waffles very tasty. Just a lot of food for the price. I highly recommend just give it a chance will be worthwhile. For what it is l, it’s clean and simple. Thank you for a wonderful meal and I look forward to come back in the future.

I don’t know how the flying ____ this place has a high review. Our chair broke was sitting down. The carpet is literally black from mold and other old food.
The rice was hard.
Everything around you is broken or destory
The waitress is completely clueless
She can’t talk in English OR Spanish
The fish took almost a hour and it was black
I ask for coffee and milk and they gave me American coffee.
Three times we ask for our first drinks and we never got it.
We ask for the check and had to pretend to walk out to give it to us
The food had zero favor
(the place was basically empty and she was texting so it wasn’t a “busy” issue)
It’s a shame because people don’t know better and it’s located in Killeen where there is no real Hispanic places. Just ghetto places like this.
Pollo tropical will mop the floor with this place.
Like seriously. If you want to see the menu, you have to stand up and go to the front of this “restaurant” to look at it.
I’m 100% calling the health inspector on them. This is unbelievable. Even bugs I saw.
