Great Thanksgiving meal! Best fried chicken ever! My husband loved the generous portion of turkey and dressing. Loved the whipped peanut butter pie drizzled with chocolate. My first Thanksgiving meal not cooking and it was delicious!

Had to stand in line. But got there early and they opened early and were seated in 30 minutes. No prep and no clean up!

Best restaurant I’ve ever been to!

We are in town for the trapshoot in Bostic, NC and wanted to visit SC while we were down here. Looked up good restaurants and stumbled upon Wades. We are so glad we did. Mary P was a great waitress. She was very helpful and attentive, made great recommendations and provided top notch service.

For the food, it really tasted like home cooking. Everything was fantastic and just pleasant. We are very glad we stopped and we hope to come back again!

First visit. Motorcyclists lunch ride. Everything was great. Only issue is waiting to get seated and waiting to pay to leave. Don’t have solution. Just worth the time. Enjoy sharing your faith with others in line. Praise the Lord!

The food was solid, the yeast rolls were great. We had to wait in line as theine was out the door and down the sidewalk but it moved pretty quickly. I had the baked chicken it was moist and seasoned well, with mash potatoes, an squash casserole. It was busy so be prepared to wait, the service was excellent, good place to enjoy your dinner.

My husband and I were in Spartanburg, SC and the folks at Piedmont Imaging recommended we come here for lunch. We were looking for good home cooking and a place locals would go. Im so glad that they recommended us to try Wade’s..!! We got there before the lunch rush so we were able to get a table without waiting. When we left, the line was out the door..! We can see why people would wait to eat here. The staff were all great..! The service was wonderful..! The food was yummy..! And the start to finish time was amazing. Thankful for a positive experience. When our travels bring us back to Spartanburg, SC again, I would go out of my way to eat here. Based on my positive I would definitely recommend.

This was our first time here. And we went based on the excellent reviews. This place was gross from start to finish and we will never be back. I can’t imagine why this place is getting any good reviews because it’s really awful from start to finish. Lets be clear: this is NURSING HOME FOOD!!! Pureed, mushy, not a lot of flavour besides salt. So, so very disappointing! Plus my country style “steak” which by the way wasn’t steak, was basically cold and my sides were lukewarm at best, and the portions were quite small. Our waitress didn’t come back till the end, and so we ate it because we were hungry , but we were not happy about it. My waitress Taylor H did not come back to check on us unti we were done and it was time for the check. Also the yeast rolls were also so disappointing! These are definitely not “the best yeast rolls anywhere” they were not fluffy , they were not moist, it did not have a yeast tangy flavour. In fact, I wouldn’t even call these a yeast roll. We ordered an extra one but left the other one behind. I had ordered a peach cobbler to go , and when I got that home , it was canned peaches and a topping that was mushy and not even cooked. Once we sat down and looked around , we realized everyone around us was quite old and in a wheelchair or a walker , and then we realized who this restaurant is catering to and why the food is so bland and mushy: It’s literally being made for the nursing home crowd. Went into the restroom on the way out, and I have never been in to such a disgusting smelling restroom , it just smelled like extremely strong old pee. And when we checked out , the cashier didn’t smile or even ask how our meal was. I cannot imagine why this place is getting any good reviews. Really gross.

As a Southerner who grew up on real, well-seasoned home cooking, I was genuinely excited to try Wade’s after hearing so much hype. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

The vegetables tasted like they came straight from a can, the mashed potatoes had the unmistakable texture of instant flakes, and nearly everything on the plate was under-seasoned and bland. Southern food should be comforting, flavorful, and cooked with care — this felt more like low-quality cafeteria fare.

What was most disappointing was being told the pies were “fresh baked,” only to find they tasted exactly like something from the freezer section of a grocery store. That felt misleading.

I truly don’t understand the reputation this place has. It may appeal to a very specific palate, but if you’re expecting authentic, scratch-made Southern cooking with depth of flavor, this isn’t it. Definitely did not live up to the fame.

Yes Yes Yes! I finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint. The food was so good. Service was amazing. This place stay busy. From the moment they had opened at 11 AM it was a line out the door waiting to get in. It was well worth it. Food was affordable as well. I will be back.
