This place is a gem! We went here to try out a new place without knowing anything about it beforehand and were so positively surprised! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the interior is gorgeously Japanese, there are many different seating options for groups, bar seating or higher tables. The menu is amazing, anyone will be able to find something, there are a lot of vegetarian or vegan options as well as gluten free. We tried the o-musubi and the hokkai miso udon. Both were really delicious and a huge portions. We definitely want to come back and try more dishes soon!

Not enough good things to say!! Food, service, and vibe are all perfect! I wish I could’ve tried their whole menu in one sitting. Deep flavors and you can tell she cares when she makes your food 🙂 Got to try Sushi (rolls +nigiri), Katsu Curry, appetizers, and their Kama-Meshi specialty rice w/ chicken!! (pictured)

Great Japanese grill and sushi, friendly staff, nice decor. This was our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We had their tuna salad, special, seaweed salad, mackerel, and salmon colors, and a salmon avo hand roll. This is the best Japanese food we’ve found in Portland so far. We’re coming back!

Awesome place to go. Chill vibe and amazing food!!! Portions are small but the taste makes up for it. You HAVE to get the pork gyoza and their spicy tuna hand roll, best I’ve ever had hands down.

Went during a busy weekend with some friends and despite the short wait the staff were always very professional and friendly. Once we were seated our server brought us water immediately and the food came out really fast! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! Wa Kitchen Kuu offers a very welcoming experience and a tasty menu. The food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Everything is made fresh and is very satisfying. I always enjoy the fresh tasting food they serve. The staff here is very kind, courteous, and professional and they greet you when you arrive with a smile and provide you with top notch quality service for a wonderful experience. The sushi here is amazing. When in downtown Portland be sure to stop by and enjoy a terrific lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

Allergy friendly and clearly marked menu. We have been here twice and it’s been truly exceptional both times. The atmosphere is cozy and classy. All of the staff members are so friendly! Highly recommend the kama-age udon. The prices are incredibly reasonable as well.

This place was great! Would love to come back. Everything we tried, the veggie gyoza, the kimchi, the salmon skin hand roll, the Udon dinner, and a specialty roll was delicious! Apparently there’s also sister restaurants throughout Portland. Who knew?
