I don’t give many 5 star reviews but I wax poetic about the Westside of Columbus there use to be so many great places there when I was growing up in the 70’s and 80’s and WG Grinders is the one of the last of a dying breed on the Westside this is a really great place with really great people with food 2nd to none in my book. They aren’t the oldest place but they have been around a long time and offer consistency not many places can. Don’t forget the cheddar Mac….

Our second time here, first time we did takeout, this time we stayed and enjoyed our food inside. Such a cute quaint shop, with a huge variety of delicious options.
Today, my husband and I really went for it
He had the Reuben sandwich special, we made it a combo which includes deli side. I had pepperoni Stromboli, which was recommended by one of the Deli workers. It did not disappoint. I also made it a combo and had a tortellini deli side.
We rounded it off with two desserts. I had the Ho ho cake, and husband had strawberry cheesecake.
We were so satisfied. Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff is upbeat and friendly. The price was extremely affordable, and we were full to the gills when we left.
On the sidenote, we live in California and we’re out here on business, this is our second time experiencing these tasty offerings. We will be back again, for sure!

My husband suggested W. G. Grinders for dinner and it did not disappoint. We ordered an Italian grinder, a Reuben grinder, and a pepperoni Stromboli. It was plenty of food, reasonable prices, and great taste. They asked if we wanted the banana peppers on the Italian grinder, it’s good they ask because some may not like them. I always get banana peppers though ️ yummy!!
They should add dessert to the online menu, we would have ordered some.
I’ve since ordered from here again and added more photos.

This W.g. Grinders store was great with decent sandwiches, fresh salads, and great desserts. I ordered their “2 out of 3” coming with a small size sandwich and salad. Their club sandwich tasted authentic and delicious with perfectly baked bread, fresh meat and vegetables, and decent dressings. Their Thai sesame dressing was impressive with Thai chicken. They also served raw meats, various cooked salads, and cheesecakes. But servers could be more attentive and WiFi was not available.

If you like attention to detail, customer service and quality food this is your place.
Grinder subs are great but the Italian stromboli is amazing. Cheddar mac is really good. The cookies and desserts are too good to stay away from. Can get busy but people who work here are helpful and have positive attitudes

I got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It didn’t Wow me for one reason. The flavor was almost hitting. Nothing is worst than almost. It peaks then it was a mouthful of dry beef. It’s good enough to eat almost a wow. Service 10/10. Greek salad yum! Caramel cookie deliciousness. I will try them again. One of their patrons was absolutely demolishing their Italian sub. He said it was the star not what I got. So I’ll try again.

So this is the only W.G. Grinders left that I know of. I drive to the other side of town to get food here even when it wasn’t because the food selection & quality was much better. Today taking my wife and 3 kids they went above and beyond any place I have ever eaten to make it up to me without me asking over a simple mistake of not putting onion and specific type of cheese on one of the subs. I’m not going to say what they did because I don’t want people taking advantage of the place, but this establishment shows what true customer service is! Oh not to mention three people apologized, and the guy that finally brought my food out was so apologetic I felt bad.

Got a 20in BBQ pulled pork without the coleslaw. Dined in. When I received the sandwich, it was beautiful, extremely hot to the touch, but when folded in half, there were cold spots. I think it was the onions, though, as my brother had the same but as a 10 inch, and his sandwich had cold spots in similar locations, so we can only assume it was the onions. Personally, it’s still a great sub/sandwich, but for my own tastes , I don’t like cold onions.

My first time there. I got a pizza sub with sausage on it. It was gross.. The bread was fresh. That’s the only good thing I can say about the sub. The sausage was really bad. It had a odd taste. My sub was cold in the middle . But on the lite side. They had a huge menu. So I will give them one more chance. Just one more..I wish I had my money back. Subways pizza sub is much better. And that’s not saying much.
