It all started when my boyfriend and I were walking in and as he was opening the door for me, an employee with the white sweater and airpod cut in front of me and walked in. She didn’t say thank you or even look at us, just cut me off and walked in.
We ordered bo kho & pho tai rieng & 2 drinks. The guy taking our order did not confirm our order, but he looked extremely busy. Granted the restaurant itself wasn’t busy, it was my boyfriend & I and another couple.
What we received was not bo kho. We got what tasted like pho broth. Just looking at it you can tell it is not authentic bo kho. I also got pho with meatballs instead of what I had ordered. It took forever to get the drinks & we ended up returning both entrees. The drinks were good though so there’s that at least.

Food here was great, I especially enjoyed the banh mi which tasted fresh and flavourful, and the pho. The Vietnamese coffee was also excellent and robust-tasting. The place itself is small so there might be a wait during peak hours.

I’ve been here about 3 times and the food has been phenomenal…but today…this was a different story…
I went in today…staff there didn’t acknowledge me, didn’t even say hi, nothing, stood there like they were annoyed for me coming into their establishment. I ordered a satè beef Banh mi, and a sunset mango, with no sugar and no ice….when waiting the, gentleman who took my order came and dropped off my drink, which looked like this…(see photo below) I looked in astonishment as I had to ask my self, is this a joke? He then went on and said that because I asked for no ice or sugar, he didn’t put any milk in it and that’s why it’s less… If you’re gonna be charging $6.50 plus GST for a drink that’s literally half a cup then you’re just Pure extorting your customers.
Regardless, I didn’t even want this drink… I didn’t even wanna refund. I just left it there for them to really reflect on what they offer their customers. You can keep the drink and the $6.50… you obviously need it more than I do

Was in the area and heard a lot of good things about this place. The Bun Bo Hue here is pretty authentic, you can tell with the sides they give you, a really good portion too (they only have one size). The Vermicelli was underwhelming and lacked a lot of flavour. Upon receiving your food you probably get no more service until you’re ready to pay, didn’t bother to re-fill our waters. Place is a little cramped, and they don’t really make an effort to clean the tables when customers leave, short staffed possibly.

The noodle soup is flavorful and satisfying, but the chicken wings are disappointing for the price. The portions are tiny, and the sauce isn’t evenly mixed, leaving some wings bland!

3.75/5 vermicelli dishes was really good here. Portions was very generous. I wasn’t a fan of the atmosphere. Chairs wasn’t really comfortable.
Came back again. Had bun Bo hue. Broth lacked seasoning. Special noodle soup ok, spring rolls was good. Again, the portions were very generous. Added more pictures. I choose their dry dishes over soup. IMO soup lacked depth in flavor.
(Update – inconsistency in taste after multiple visits made me lowered my overall score)

My experience here was good overall, especially for a last minute pick. I had the Bún Riêu, which could’ve used a bit more flavour, but the spring rolls and Thai milk tea were both solid. The service was attentive, even with just one server handling the floor. Would return to try other dishes

The night we ate here the restaurant was super busy but the lone server was running and getting it done. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and the pho came with bean sprouts, lime and Thai basil. I thought the pho was OK a little low on flavour and not hot. The spring rolls were very good and came with a dressed up dipping sauce not just plain fish sauce. Overall it was an ok dinner.

The taste is average and the side dishes are fresh. The price is a little bit higher.Ice drinks are also available. Maybe it’s too much to ask of a coffee shop that the Vietnamese noodles are delicious. The store is small but clean and the staff is friendly.

They have THE BEST cold drinks in the city! The highest quality, freshest ingredients are used, and you can taste the difference. They have unique drinks and dishes found in no other restaurant, and they’re always adding new items to their menu. Love their crab udon and Vietnamese salted coffee! We go at least once a week and are so happy to have this gem in our neighborhood.
