This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Granted, the list isn’t incredibly long, but Vung Tau has always set the bar, and none have beaten it.

The food and service are always consistent, and the staff are helpful at finding items you might enjoy.

There are less than 10 ‘must try’ restaurants if you are in Lincoln, and this one makes my list.

The dishes are definitely prepared for the non-Vietnamese customers.

Bánh mì is cheap BUT very little meat. You get what you paid for

Sorry for the bad images due to the light in the restaurant. Bánh mì comes with veggies but we asked to put them on a separate bag to take home.

One of the best pho broth in Lincoln. A great place to eat pho during a cold and rainy day.

Genuinely amazing, staff is so kind and the food feels very fresh apart from the beef. Best pho in town. Never disappoints

Best pho in town! The staff is always friendly and down to earth here. There are so many dishes to choose from. I always go with the pho because you can’t go wrong. Choose your favorite cut or cuts of meat and make it as spicy as you would like! If you would like it even spicier just ask for a side of chili oil though! Always happy to eat here. Will be back soon to this restaurant. 10/10

Amazing Pho and a great staff to make for a fantastic experience. Everything we all tried hit the mark when it comes to a Vietnamese menu for Lincoln. We highly recommend based on our one visit. We will be back!

As an Asian who has tried many bowls of pho in my life, I can say it’s not the best I’ve had, but it’s still good enough. I’m also happy to have found good pho in Nebraska. While the soup was a bit greasy and the broth not as rich or has depth as I’d hoped, it was still a solid bowl of pho. I was initially skeptical given the restaurant’s exterior and interior, but the food exceeded my expectations.

Belinda Carlisle once said: “oooh, heaven is a place on Earth.” Though not confirmed, sources close to her have told me she was referring to a specific restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska: Vung Tau. It is the best restaurant in Lincoln. No competition. I’ve been coming to here for as a long as I can remember, and not once have they faltered.

In the past year I’ve moved away from Lincoln, and often find myself craving a meal from here– specifically the #18 – very frequently. In fact, I’m craving it right now. Hence why I’m writing this review.

A bed of chilled, crispy lettuce and cucumbers topped with cold noodles, served with a hot slab of the best pork you’ll ever eat. I always add chili oil, a fried egg, and wash it down with hot tea. TRUST ME. There is no better value meal in town and I usually get two servings out of their portions. Occasionally, on colder days, I’d divert to their incredible pho (the #7 is my choice.)

If you are feeling like a sweet treat, their boba is a knockout. Family members rave about the avocado, but I’m partial to a Thai tea or taro flavor. You really cannot go wrong ordering here. The staff are friendly and always remember a regular.

Whenever I come back to town, this place is a priority. It should be a priority for you, too. Support small, people! Vung Tau– I’ll see you when I’m home.
