Reviews
I don’t usually write long reviews, but Vulcanos Italian Restaurant absolutely earned it. From the moment we walked in, it felt like one of those rare local spots where everything is made with love and completely from scratch. You can taste the difference in every single bite.
We started with the wedge salad, and it was perfect — crisp, fresh, chilled lettuce with the right balance of toppings and dressing. It was way bigger than expected (portions here are no joke), but every bite had amazing flavor. It’s honestly one of the best wedge salads I’ve had anywhere.
Next, we ordered a gluten-free pizza, and I was blown away. Gluten-free pizza is usually hit or miss, but theirs tasted like real, authentic pizza with that homemade texture and flavor. The crust had that perfect balance of crispy and chewy, and you could tell it was made in-house and not something pre-packaged. Easily the best gluten-free pizza in the area — maybe anywhere.
But the star of the night was the lobster ravioli. Absolutely incredible. You can tell it’s homemade the moment you cut into it. The pasta was soft and fresh, and the filling actually had real chunks of lobster instead of the usual “barely-there” filling most places give you. The sauce was rich, creamy, and absolutely addictive. If you come here, this dish is a must-try.
On top of the food being amazing, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell the staff really cares about their customers and takes pride in what they serve.
Also, the best vodka sauce I’ve ever had in my life, better than in Italy!
If you want real, homemade Italian food served with big portions, great service, and authentic flavor, this is 100% the place. We left full, impressed, and already planning what we want to try next time.
Highly recommended — 10/10 experience
We started with the meatball trio: three glorious, house-made meatballs that were so tender and flavorful, they could’ve been smuggled straight from my Italian grandpa’s kitchen (and trust me, that’s high praise; the man once made Sinatra beg for seconds).
Then came the large quattro formaggio pizza: piping hot, oozing with four cheeses, fresh ingredients bursting in every bite, and a crust that was crispy perfection. The flavors? Amazing. Explosive. Life-changing.
Paired it all with delicious red wine that went down way too easily, and the service was outstanding – attentive without hovering, like the perfect Italian uncle. The table linens and cloth napkins gave it that classy old-world touch that made us feel fancy without trying.
I’m hard to impress when it comes to Italian food (thanks, Grandpa), but Vulcano’s blew me away. Run, don’t walk – seriously, sprint – to Vulcano’s. I can’t wait to go back and fight my wife over the last meatball. 5 stars isn’t enough!
Seriously though, if you are looking for a great traditional Italian meal you can’t go wrong with Vulcano’s. We have had their pizza before (which has always been excellent). Tonight we went for a lowkey birthday dinner and we were simply blown away. Great meals are always about consistency and execution. Calamari is the lightest and crispiest we’ve ever had. Nice that they let the quality of ingredients speak for the dish. Nothing over seasoned. Everything tasted fresh to order. We were envious of neighboring tables that ordered baked pasta dishes, that looked like Mama just pulled them out of the oven. I could go on about the food quality, but what’s important is that you dear diner, understand that Vulcano’s is a little gem, enjoyed by locals for decades. Our server was impeccable and knew exactly how to present the perfect Italian birthday dinner. I haven’t been this happy after dining out in a very long time. Don’t pass it up. Enjoy the wine.
I’d give them 6 stars if I could.
Ciao.
The restaurant was kinda small, small enough that you can hear every conversation at the tables around you.
Good: Veal Parmesan was good; flavorful tomato sauce and mozzarella. Very healthy serving size, left feeling full. Served with a side of angel hair pasta.
Bad: The Caesar salad was very disappointing for an Italian restaurant. It was served as a side to my entree but if I had paid for it as a first course (which I was considering), I would have been even more disappointed. I was like a buffet level quality, almost no green part of the romaine lettuce, weak dressing.
Eh: White wine list was underwhelming and overpriced (as is common for restaurants), can get better wines at Publix.
Lack of preparedness: We ordered tiramisu to go and when we got home to try it, it was still frozen…can’t imagine how that would have gone in the restaurant.
