The service was flawless, warm, and attentive. The mix of colors inside the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, creating such a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. And the food… simply delicious. The llapingachos were on another level, the morocho was comforting and authentic, and the famous canelazo was just perfect.
I 100% recommend this place. I’ll definitely VUELVO soon!! ✨✨✅
Atmosphere: 4/5
nicely decorated, nice color scheme (pastels on the walls and seating). pendant lighting over the tables was tasteful. unisex bathroom is large and clean, though they had run out of paper towels by the time we had left (a little odd because it was only 6:45PM at that point). It looks like the restaurant occupies what used to be 3 separate storefronts that they combined to make a single establishment. because of this there are lots of windows and natural light. It was chilly in the main dining area.
Service: 4/5
Waiter was upbeat, attentive and quick. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 appetizers first, then the main course a few minutes later after mulling over the menu options. I received my drink about 10 minutes after ordering it, my partner didn’t receive hers until another 10 minutes passed and after I reminded the waiter. 30 minutes went by after ordering with no appetizers brought out yet. I went to look for the waiter and realized why there were delays: only 2 people working the kitchen. The waiter confirmed what I suspected, that it was a Monday (usually a slow night for them) and they hadn’t anticipated this amount of guests due to the show at the theater. Since the clock was now ticking on when we needed to leave to make our 7PM show, I asked him to skip the appetizers if it meant getting the main courses more quickly. He quickly came back the appy’s, and assured us everything would be ready in time. Bonus points to the waiter for ensuring they prioritized our meal in order for us to make the show. We made it out in time, even with us having ordered a dessert. Other guests had to make the same show, and the waiter seemed to be making a genuine effort to get everyone finished in time so they wouldn’t be late.
Food: 4/5
appetizers: Fried yuca was fantastic. burrata was good with a balsamic drizzle on top. Would have been better if roasted red pepper, olives, and/or prosciutto were included with the dish.
main course:
chicken vuelvo with mash potatoes was good with a nice marsala sauce. I felt something was missing that would have improved the dish, like adding caramelized onion on top. the chicken felt a little naked with just brined jalapeños and mushrooms. my partner had the penne ala vodka with shrimp. it included 6 jumbo shrimp, pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was good quality.
drinks:
draft 2 roads IPA was a hit. Margarita was almost all ice and little beverage. A big mistake restaurants make that I’ll never understand. Why skimp on a pricey drink? leaves a bad impression and ensures we will never order a cocktail there again.
dessert:
limoncello cake. we split a nice sized piece. it was just ok, we would not order it again.
value: About what I would expect for the quality. portion sizes were fine, and effort was made in making the food plating presentation more upscale than what you might expect.
* I included a photo of the menu. As of 12/30/2025 the online prices for some of the dishes are a dollar or 2 MORE than the printed menu price. They should fix this, as it could cause a disagreement over the bill for someone who is perceptive.
Juan David attended us super well, highly recommended.

business. It’s a tough industry to break into, especially when Wallingford has so many fine choices.
