V’s Restaurant + Bar in Malibu is an absolute gem along the Pacific Coast Highway, and our recent visit with family and friends left us completely impressed and eager to return.
From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect—hip yet welcoming, with that signature Malibu charm blending sound of ocean waves, warm lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels both upscale and relaxed. The menu draws beautifully from Californian, Mediterranean, and Italian influences, delivering fresh, high-quality dishes that shine in flavor and presentation.
The food and cocktails were spectacular and we cleaned our plates, gushing over and over again how this is our new favorite spot along Pacific Highway! The desserts were a highlight and stole the show. We were treated to a stunning array of house-made treats: creamy scoops of gelato and ice cream in flavors like rich chocolate, Tahitian vanilla, and indulgent dark chocolate brownie chunks, all drizzled artfully. But the standout was the spectacular frozen dessert masterpiece—a vibrant orange sorbet “orange” sculpted with precision, topped with a sugared slice that looked almost too beautiful to eat (but we did, and it was refreshingly bright and perfectly balanced). Paired with warm cookies, decadent pistachio cake to die for, and other sweets, it capped off the meal in the most memorable way.
What elevated the entire experience, though, was the incredible hospitality from co-owner Yassen “Yoshi” Tonev. The Bulgarian duo—Yassen and Vassil Pertchinkov—clearly pour their passion into every detail, living their motto of “great food, great drinks, and great times.” Yassen greeted us personally and treated us with remarkable generosity—extra touches, warm conversation, and genuine care that made us feel like valued friends rather than just guests. It’s rare to encounter such heartfelt service in a place this polished, and it turned a great meal into an unforgettable one.
V’s has been a Malibu favorite since 2013 for good reason: consistently excellent food, creative cocktails, and that special personal touch from owners who truly care. If you’re in Malibu (or making the drive), make a reservation—you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend—5 stars all the way!

Absolutely amazing food and service. Atmosphere is great, came after a day in the field and was treated great even though just wearing a T-shirt and pants.
The filet is absolutely amazing. One of the best steaks I’ve had in my life. The sides that come with the filet (green beans, mushrooms, and potatoes) compliment it perfectly. Order it rare and you can cut it with a butter knife.

Went here for lunch. Had the calamari, crab cake, & the arugula salad as appetizers. All 3 were excellent, our favorite was the calamari. The crab cake was a close 2nd. For entrees, we had the special mahi-mahi with risotto, salmon with couscous, & seafood linguine. Both fishes were fresh & cooked perfectly. The star was the seafood pasta – sauce was award winning. Our waiter told us what went into making that dish. The risottos was cooked perfectly. Service was impeccable. Our host was very friendly & courteous. He told us how to get to the Malibu Beach pier (2 traffic lights) & allowed us to park our car at the restaurant. We walked to the end of the pier, they had couple restaurants 1 at the front. We checked their menus, their prices were the same or higher than V’s. I doubt their preparation would equal V’s. Lastly, you can see our lunch portions were more than adequate. I would say equivalent to diner portions at most high quality restaurants. 2 thumbs up for V’s.

My husband and I go every time we’re in Malibu and we take every single person who visits us in Malibu, to V’s. We love it here. Cozy and comfortable, the food is incredible, and consistent – always perfect. The chicken sausage rigatoni is famous in our family, and the short ribs. They also have the best pork chop I’ve ever had. You cannot top this place in Malibu, or anywhere else.

Great place to have a lovely lunch in Malibu. I highly recommend as a starter to try the Burrata with fresh tomatoes and basil, followed by a nice portion of mushroom pasta as a main course. They are so delicious.
