Carrollton TX MENU – Volcano Hot Pot
Volcano Hot Pot
Volcano Hot Pot – Always delicious!
Reviews
The food was okay but not what we expected. All of the meat was overly marinated and not very fresh, which took away from the enjoyment. The rice was unfortunately overcooked, dry, and slightly burnt. Dessert options were very limited, though the sauce bar itself was decent. The revolving belt of ingredients didn’t really enhance the experience and felt unnecessary.
When we first arrived, service was slow to start and we weren’t greeted right away. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed at first and was only able to seat us. He was very kind and attentive later on, which we appreciated. There was also some confusion with our burner being left at a very low temperature, so we spent some time trying to cook before a manager noticed and adjusted it for us.
The layout of the restaurant was a bit difficult to navigate, as it’s split in half and arranged more like a sushi restaurant, which didn’t feel very convenient for a hot pot/bbq setup. We also noticed a couple of fruit flies near the meat bar, which was concerning.
Additionally, the menu was written on a whiteboard with expo marker, which felt a bit informal for a restaurant at this price point. The overall cost felt high given the limited meat selections and experience. We spent maybe about 2 hours there and during that time the meat was never replenished.
There are definitely some positive elements here, and with improvements to food freshness, service flow, and overall presentation, this could be a much better experience in the future.
We had Alec as our main server (and another guy whose name I don’t know helped out) and they were both attentive and efficient. They made sure dirty plates didn’t sit more than a few minutes on our table and that our broth and drinks were never empty!
Upon being seated, we were handed a menu and chose a soup base. They have a quite a few options, but our go-to is the tomato soup base. It’s like tomato soup without the thick, heavy cream. It’s also pretty cool that you get your own little “hot pot” so I don’t have to share with my husband. The meats and other items are out in the open for you to grab when you want and how much you want. However, be mindful to only take what you can eat. This place also does Korean bbq if you wanted to do that in tandem with hot pot or to just do whichever you prefer. Our waitress was super friendly, and they collect your empty dishes on your table which is really nice. Overall, a yummy experience!
Though, the selection of food was limited and there was not much variety of seafood and meat, but still there was enough to make you full.
The bathroom experience was… not very pleasant it smelled horrifyingly disgusting to the point I’ve lost my appetite. (Yes it is that bad)
In conclusion to my review, this place was OK, there wasn’t any wow-factor to it. It was fun and kid-friendly but, the food selection is just like what other hotpot places have. They have a lot of potential in this restaurant and if they changed the selection of food and put in more effort into the place, I would come back for sure.
You no longer have to keep asking the waiter for your order!
Although their slices of meat are thin, you can take as much as you want.
They also have a wide variety of vegetables, and they don’t just give you a little bit.
The food on their rotating track is wrapped in plastic wrap to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the food.
The disadvantage is that it is a bit of a waste of plastic wrap. Even if the food you want is not waiting for you on the carousel, you can still order from the waiter.
The only downside was the ice cream, which didn’t taste like ice cream at all.
The hot pot journey is a taste sensation! Their signature volcano broth, especially the spicy version, is a flavorful explosion – each spoonful bursts with delightful tastes. You’re in control of the spice level, turning every bite into your unique adventure. The menu boasts a variety of fresh ingredients like meats, seafood, and veggies, creating a top-notch meal. And here’s the kicker – you get to be the chef, cooking it all yourself right at your table – talk about a cool dining experience!
The ambiance is as cool as the food! Stylish decor and comfy seats create a laid-back yet lively atmosphere. The staff knows their hot pot game and guides you through the experience. Even during busy hours, they handle the rush well, always ready to assist. Now, it’s not a run-of-the-mill budget-friendly spot, but the portion sizes are generous – you’re getting value for your money. Volcano Hot Pot in Carrollton isn’t just about a meal; it’s a flavor-packed adventure that transforms dinner into a memorable experience.
