Reviews
I travel for work so I’m always trying random restaurants that seem interesting or have the price point I’m looking for at the time.
This time, I wanted something different. I was tired of the same old, same old with Pizza or burgers or tacos or frozen dinners. I was looking for something a little more fresh, and something that was flavorful.
I found that and more at this restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy but bright, everything smelled wonderful when I walked in the door, and the people that served me were wonderful.
That’s not really why I’m posting this review.
I purchased the BBQ Lemongrass Pork Vermicelli Noodle Bowl
Includes: [discription Taken from menu]
Vermicelli rice noodles topped with roasted peanuts and shallots served with lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts, jalapeño, with a chili-lime fish sauce.
$ 1 6 . 0 0
It sounded interesting, this was my first time to this restaurant , I hadn’t had anything off of their menu before, so I thought I’d “trust the process.”
So I got the dish as is, and took it back to my hotel.
I’m so glad I didn’t alter it at all. Every single ingredient had a purpose. Every bite was a symphony of flavor.
It was somehow (all at once yet easily discernibly): salty and sweet, spicy and cooling, soft and crisp, all while amazingly capturing that nebulous umami flavor that so many try to capture yet fail to.
I will definitely be returning to this location while in town for work.
*10/10 would recommend*
The restaurant itself is small and cozy, so if you have more than 6 people it would be hard to eat there.
The strawberry green milk tea and mango green milk tea are decent but taste watered down. The flavor diminishes after the first few sips. The mangonada had an excessive amount of chamoy and tajin. It is unfortunate, because mangonadas are always my go-to drink at most drink shops; however, this one was too sour and spicy to even be tolerable.
We ordered two drinks and waited about 10 minutes for them to be prepared. The servers are kind and attentive, but they seem to be spread thin, so the wait times are relatively long.
The prices are also on the higher end. Two drinks come out at around $15.
We’d still like to come back and try other drink flavors.
