I was visiting Providence and chose this restaurant because it was nearby my hotel. So glad I did as it was the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Our waiter was super friendly, even brought out extra spicy salsa for my friend. I highly recommend the carne asada. The refried beans were also so so good. I ended my meal with churros which were fried perfectly. I only wish I lived closer to enjoy this restaurant more often!

This place was wonderful! Food came out quickly and was delicious! I got the chicken chimichanga and there was a good amount of chicken with beans and rice inside as well as perfectly melty cheese. The drinks were fantastic and the churros were great! There was so much cinnamon sugar on them with a really good raspberry dip. Plus, the atmosphere was fantastic. Sitting by the window gave the perfect backdrop to dinner.

We randomly stopped by Viva Mexico Cantina for my birthday and I am SO unbelievably happy that we did! It was (simply) THE BEST! The food had good portions and it was delicious!! The overall atmosphere was welcoming and fun! Our waiter, Nagib was exceptional!! The entire wait staff was incredibly efficient. Between speedily clearing off the table or recommending delicious desserts. The homemade flan was highly recommended to us, we tried it and I am here to forward that message! IT WAS DELICIOUS! My overall experience was terrific, I would most definitely stop by here again and I recommend you to do the same! I would consider this one of my top dining experiences ever! Thank you!

Our first experience was tonight and it was great. Came in and sat at the bar and was promptly greeted by the bar tender Nagib who was extremely attentive. He helped with questions and also gave suggestions. He also was helpful and though there were a number of people at the bar he made sure everything was taken care of. The food was also delicious, the flavor was excellent and tasted fresh. Within walking distance from PPAC we can’t wait to come back.

Viva Mexico is easily my favorite Spanish restaurant on the East Coast. As a California native, I never thought I would find tacos out here that truly remind me of home. Viva Mexico gets it right with authentic Mexican style tacos that bring me straight back to California. Every visit feels like a taste of home, and that means more to me than I can put into words.
Jose, the owner, is a genuinely great guy who makes sure every part of your experience is on point. From the food and drinks to the music and the vibe, the quality is always top tier. Do yourself a favor and order a margarita with agave and tajin on the rim. You really cannot go wrong. I also love the crispy chicken quesadillas and the steak tacos. Both are incredible.

The service was top tier! They immediately came to our table and asked if we wanted drinks and chips, which were great. That type of service continued throughout the night. On the basis of food, the tacos I got were delicious, especially paired with the rice they gave. Would definitely recommend and go again!

Not sure why there were a couple of really bad reviews. I think those people aren’t happy with anything. We really enjoyed our late night meal. Had some different kinds of tacos, beans and rice. Super! George the bartender made us some great margaritas. He was friendly and we enjoyed talking with him. I definitely recommend!!

This place is simply lovely!! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is second to none. Nagib, our server, was so accommodating and made the BEST food recommendation. We’ve come here two years in a row from Boston after Disney on ice and can’t wait to come back again next year. Bonus, they had coco on for the kids!
