It took at least 15 minutes before the waitress came to our table.

My favorite Mexican restaurant throughout the Lacey-Tacoma area! Viva Mexican offers a robust menu and is able to make every dish to perfection. My favorite time to visit is during happy hour when they have an incredible deal on their tacos. I have come here numerous times and enjoy the food every time. Service is always quick, and you can expect leftovers from the portion sizes. I don’t normally care for the beans and rice at other restaurants, but here at Viva they are a must!

One of the best Mexican food I’ve had, very authentic based on my experience. Food was delicious and most of the drinks were very well made. Our server was great and kept checking on us. I ordered a margarita flight, the mango and classic lime were very good but I didn’t like the prickly pear as much. My husband loved his tacos (shrimp and carne asada) I had the pozole rojo, it’s the best one I’ve tried so far. The ceviche was very yummy too, tasted fresh and wasn’t swimming in citrus juice like we usually have it at other restaurants.

Food was good, but Very Expensive. Nice decor. Very slow service. No free chips and salsa. Not sure if chips and salsa are not standard in this area. No rice and beans with tacos. Have to purchase rice and bean to make it meal combo. I thought I was in McDonalds for a minute to make it combo meal.

No wait. Great service. Delicious food. First Mexican restaurant that you don’t get complimentary chips and salsa, though!

If you have a nut allergy like I do myself be aware that this places enchiladas have peanut sauce. This is not noted on the menu! I ended up going to the hospital after eating a little of my meal and was notified after starting to have a reaction that enchiladas are the only thing on the menu with this sauce. The food takes not very long to come out but don’t expect your server to check on you to much. This place looks sad on the outside and isn’t impressive once you get inside. This restaurant is actually lucky to have me writing this review instead of them being told about my funeral over some sub par food.

The staff is extremely nice! Our hostess, who was also our waitress, talked with my two little girls for a long time and listened to all their stories! The restaurant is clean and the service is pretty fast. There are no free chips and salsa at this restaurant like most other Mexican sit-down places, so be prepared to pay if you’d like some. Also no kids menus to color on, but my kids had fun looking at all the decor and finding the different animals. The food is a little over priced in my opinion. You can get the same item, but a bigger portion, for less, at other establishments.

Soo.. I’m a huge foodie, not to mention ‘Mexican-American’ and have traveled all through México. I have to say I was very disappointed in the food. The salsas (all 3) were horrible. Pico de gallo tasted like refrigerator & had a lot of onion. I had the mole enchiladas & that sauce was way over powering & almost hard to eat. The chunks of chicken were not a good texture for an enchilada. It was a little pricey for the quality of the food. I wish I had better news. The place cute though

I frequently eat lunch here with my work colleagues and the food and service are always great! One thing to note is that you will not get the endless chips and salsa that you are probably accustomed to. These are items on the menu at this restaurant. I’m sure I’ll be eating here again soon!
