We really enjoyed our meal at Viva la Pasta. The dining room was packed, but they also have a huge outdoor covered patio. The atmosphere was vibrant!
We were served a complementary bread basket upon being seated, which included focaccia and sourdough bread slices served with butter. We also used olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which were already on our table, for dipping. I ordered a bottle of Italian beer called Birra Moretti L’Autentica, which is a classic Italian pale lager known for its traditional brewing and golden color.
We ordered a large margherita pizza, which came with a medium thick crust and tons of cheese, which made the pizza a bit too oily and heavy, and the cheese was sliding off the pizza slices when carried. The sauce was excellent and the large basil leaves were extremely fresh and vibrant. My son devoured his slices, and we helped him, too!
We also ordered a primavera pasta with rigatoni, which was excellent. It came with a side salad or soup. We chose the house salad with Italian dressing.
The veggies in the primavera were chopped smaller than I was used to, which made it all the better. It included broccoli florets, asparagus, zucchini, yellow squash, peas, cherry tomatoes, and red onion. The cream sauce was garlicky and delicious. You could also order it with marinara sauce, instead.
I highly recommend a visit to Viva la Pasta, as I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Was with a group dinner party of 24. This is a fairly large restaurant with outdoor seating. Menu was for a large group. I choose the lasagne. Water and drinks were served within 10 minutes of being seated. Salad arrived after another 10 minutes and the main course was ordered. The salad was an Italian salad with an Italian dressing and was ok. The restaurant was at 10% capacity. We waited another 10 minutes before main course started to trickle in. My lasagna had little flavor and the meat sauce was on the sweet side. The noodles and cheese were cooked well. After most had finished their meals, desserts were chosen from another list of menu items. I choose a chocolate cake and it was served 5 minutes later. The frosting was good but the cake was dry. While much of the restaurant was clean, the men’s room needed attention as the toilet was not caulked, and floor not as clean as expected. The light fixture needed to be cleaned and bulbs replaced. The electrical against the wall near where we sat needed an electrician to fix terminal ends.

We ordered a pasta MARE E TERRA and coppino, the food was delicious! Followed by the homemade carrot cake, which is so moist with nice texture. It’s our go-to Italian place.

The food is Delicious and the customer service is awesome. I ordered the manicotti and my husband had the chicken piccata, great portions, and the food was outstanding. I would like to add that a week ago we referred a group of friends that were looking for an Italian restaurant in Simi Valley, to Viva, la pasta. Everyone of them said they had an amazing experience, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back soon. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I love this neighborhood Italian restaurant! Everything is delicious and it’s such a charming family owned restaurant with good vibes. They also have a very extensive menu with all the popular favorites and more. They’re always busy so you may want to place a reservation ahead of time.

We’ve eaten here 3 or 4 times but this was the first time in 4 years. We really used to enjoy their Sunday brunch but it seems like they don’t do it anymore. The selection here is massive as they have something like 29 different pasta sauces/dishes with your choice of a bunch of noodles. I’ll say the food was okay. There was a large group of us family so we all tried each other’s plates and honestly the stand out for many of us was the calzone. I got the clams in white sauce and it was sort of bland. The service is really good though. We enjoy the setting here and the lovely service so I’m sure we’ll be back

We have been going to Viva la pasta since the day it was built, back when Wood ranch was just being built.
I love this place so much. It is run by real Italians! I have weathered as they have the death of two of their original founders, and as much as that saddens me, the best tribute I can give them is to go there as often as I can.
My favorite thing to get is the Panini sandwiches with a salad, and it is a very low price. We also sometimes go there for the Thanksgiving buffet… wow what a spread!
Of course they have all the great Italian items and some wonderful focaccia bread that they make in house.
Their desserts are really good too.
