We just had a lovely turkey dinner that was the Saturday Special. The food was good and reasonably priced. The setting is lovely and it was the perfect thing for a cold December afternoon.

Stopped in for lunch, and my wife got the french dip prime rib. I got the baked haddock. We also got dessert and cappuccino. The food was excellent.
Service was excellent.

The owner has been there every time we have went. The bartender very friendly and so is in all the staff. The food is excellent they have a wide variety of Fish Italian food and Grill. They also have a large options of appetizers. They do give you a generous drink. The owner herself always has a smile and is very upbeat woman. But the food is excellent I always enjoy sitting at the bar and they do have a few TVs. No matter what you get you can’t go wrong. I’m sure you’ll love it as we did.

We had dinner here to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary with a party of seven. The experience was great from start to finish. All of the food came out hot, on time, and was clearly well-prepared. We started with a few appetizers—antipasto, fried calamari, and the trio sampler—all of which were solid choices.

For my meal, I had the baked scallops with a Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. Everything was fresh and delicious. My wife ordered the Tuscan chicken, which I tried as well—and it was fantastic. I’ll probably go for that next time.

We finished off the meal with dessert and were not disappointed. The baked cookie skillet was warm, and perfectly indulgent, while the apple crisp had a great balance of sweetness and spice with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

The ambiance was casual, warm, and inviting—perfect for a family celebration. All around, a memorable evening with great food, relaxed atmosphere, and excellent staff.

Additionally while the adults were chatting, my kids had fun playing rock paper scissors with the staff at the hostess station.

Our favorite dining spot on Cape Ann.

Vita Bella, in plain sight on Route 133 in Essex, has become one of our weekly go to restaurants Since Alchemy, which used to be on Main Street in downtown Gloucester, closed a few years before Covid there has been no comparative alternative. Gloucester is actually somewhat of a culinary desert in terms of choice, with no tapas bars, mezze, Thai or Indian restaurants. We love everything about Vita Bella; a booth by the window, very friendly service, very generous cocktails, tasty food and unhurried ambience and ultra generous parking. Vita Bella has offerings to suit all tastes; they have recently installed a gluten free fryolator . My wife has sampled: Chicken Bacon ranch flatbread, mussels Bianca, eggplant parmigiana and beef bolognese. She loved them all. I am a vegetarian and have gravitated to the Eggplant Napoleon, which is a mouth watering concoction of mozzarella, fried eggplant and vodka cream sauce. I have never ever seen this on a menu anywhere else. It is one of those dishes that is so yummy it is a must have, so I order it every time I visit. Sometimes we indulge in desserts and have both enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake, crème brûlée and affogato. Vita Bella has a very creative martini list. They recently made some interesting drinks to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. We find it extremely helpful that they separate out the straight up martini style drinks from those served on the rocks. We like our cocktails to be straight up and were delighted that they were willing to serve any cocktail straight up. See photos of our favorite dishes. We are making a visit to Vita Bella a weekly event; you should too

Amazing service food and atmosphere. It was my first time coming here and it might have been the best dining experience I’ve ever had. The service was amazing but the food took the cake. the pasta with vodka was top notch!!! Best I’ve ever eaten. Not to pricey either for 2 people to go out to eat with drinks under 70$ just amazing!!! Please consider going here it was 10/10

Simply outstanding! The Chicken Marsala was among the best I’ve ever had. Our server Amy was amazing! She was very professional and pleasant with a great sense of humor. All 8 dinner plates at our table had beautiful presentation and the food was piping hot! You could tell the pasta was homemade. Can’t wait to come again and try the Chicken Picatta. Excellent job staff!

We had a delicious meal at Vita Bella with great service by our bartender, Brett. The onion rings were super crispy and very light, definitely get a plate of these no matter what else you order! The chicken saltimboca was done perfectly with crispy prosciutto. The pasta bolognese was some of the best I’ve ever had. Cocktails were generous and wine selections paired perfectly with the meal. We will be back!

Vita Bella Ristorante. In a few words; the place, the food + the service are top notch.

After living in England for over 25 years AND Italy for a few, my heart was crying out for a restaurant like Vita Bella. It brought back fond memories because it looks like a British eatery/pub but, the food tastes like you’re in Tuscany!

So, I willingly admit I’m a bit obsessed with this warm + wonderful restaurant. (And their tasty signature popovers are fabulous.)

Vita Bella actually means ‘beautiful life’ in Italian. And this is apt because by the time you finish your dining experience life FEELS beautiful!

First time there today. Everyone there was beyond fabulous. The food was extraordinary. Size of the meals crazy big. Awesome. Couldn’t have been happier. We will be frequenting this hidden gem. We dined in, but of course got takeout for the kids.
