This was my 1st time to this restaurant. Nice atmosphere great staff that checked on me multiple times. They had Dj Illmatic in and had great music going. The service was good. Took a lil bit for the food to come out, but there was a large crowd in. I had the Salmon bites and Crab Cake with the Broccoli and 1 drink. . Everything was good and i would come back and check them out again. I heard the fish and grits were really good so I definitely will try that next time also

This is a nice, Black-owned restaurant with great vibes. The food was good, the service was great, and the atmosphere was amazing. They play music, and they have large TVs to watch. However, they could NOT show live NFL games. So, they need to look into that, since football season is approaching. The server said they also have a karaoke night. I also love that it’s mostly a 30 and up crowd. I’ll be back on non football nights.

Everything was great. We went on a Reggae night during happy hour. We had several Virtue Mules that have Titos. We tried Philly Egg rolls, Fire Cracker Shrimp, Parmesan Wings, Fried Salmon Bites, Seasoned Fries and a Corona. Everything was cooked to perfection.

We had an opportunity of visiting Virtue Bistro (Chesapeake, VA) establishment on March 23, 2025, upon glancing over the limited menu, it wasn’t much to choose from, and no appetizers or desserts are available on the brunch menu. (See Picture) My party decided to order drinks and the following entrees: lamb chops and eggs, shrimp and grits, whiting and grits, and scrambled eggs with breakfast potatoes.
While other reviews have stated, the drinks come out pretty quickly this is a fact. As for the food, it’s going to take a while, and not all will come out at the same time. We were informed the lamb chops were sold out and opted to order the chicken and waffles; for $18.00, the quantity was very disappointing, and only a partial piece of chicken and a small waffle accompanied the small plate; however, the breakfast potatoes smelled good and had a nice taste. While one entrée came out 20 minutes later, the fish and grits and side of macaroni and cheese finally made it present. Again, the quantity was very small; it was like 2 whiting’s cut in half and put in a childlike cereal bowl with stone-ground grits. The macaroni noodles were overcooked, but the taste was edible. Another 30 minutes later, the shrimp and grits finally came out.
At this point, we were so disappointed with this restaurant and service, we decided to ask for to-go boxes, so totally we waited for approx. 1 hour just for our 4th person to get an ordered of scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes make this make SENSE! We found out the most we can say.
This establishment has a lot of improvements that are needed to compete with other breakfast spots and for longevity in the industry….

DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. I don’t believe that this establishment was well thought out / planned. It definitely had potential if they actually read the reviews and make the necessary changes. I visited this establishment with my wife and as soon as we walked it the aesthetics were AMAZING. So one would think the food would also match however we were highly disappointed. We got dinner (cheese crab dip, burger and fries, chicken sandwich). My burger was burnt and was not well seasoned. The fries that came with it looked like they were bought from a random low grade grocery store and cooked subpar…no season no nothing….My wife’s chicken sandwich had zero taste…and it was overcooked. Her fries were also terrible. The crab dip we ordered was missing the seasoning, tomatoes and scallion. The Mac n cheese we got tasted like craft Mac n cheese and dry….There is nothing significant about this place…It’s as if there was no thought put into the quality of the food at this place. I wish I read the reviews before coming here and wasting money…..we will not be back …we just took the food in a to go box and left …

This was my first time going to this establishment I was invited for a birthday brunch. The atmosphere, service and food was great. My bill including my tip was $36; however, TO MY SURPRISE $83.53 had been deducted from my account! I have tried to contact the business by phone but haven’t received any response and they aren’t scheduled to reopen until Wednesday at 5 pm. This type of error is unacceptable and I would appreciate very much if it’s immediately corrected. It was my first and last time going there!

Very clean nice place. Greeted upon arrival. Now the thing we came here for the food. Got the whiting and grits, the whiting was really good, grits ok. The portion was very small, glad I ordered eggs on the side, I asked if they were indeed shell eggs she said yes. No way they were shell eggs as they do not scramble like this. My friend got the French toast we both, we’re not impressed. I can’t say this place is worth a return visit.

Went to Virtue for my girls 62nd.. We had a party of 12. The music and atmosphere was nice, but I think they may have been overwhelmed with patrons on a Saturday night. They absolutely could not keep up. Our server was super nice , ,but we waited over 1.5 hr for our food order. When I received the oysters rockefeller, they were cold and under cooked. I decided I’d prefer not to get sick and sent them back. In order to get a second drink, I needed to go wait at the bar, because service was soooo slow. I’d try again on a weekday.

They must have a new chef/cook because the food I got on 4/26/2025 was not it. The salmon bites had nice flavor but you could tell the grease was old. The shrimp and lobster linguine was greasy, the shrimp and lobster was charred and all I could taste was burnt on them and no seasoning. My husband steak same nothing but charred taste. When we came for brunch it was a hit now it seems like the quality of food had went down. And I hyped this place up now I won’t be coming back after the food experience and the pricing we had to pay for it.

The food was scrumptious and the portions better than most restaurants I’ve reviewed and I have reviewed many. Just go back and look at the pictures in my reviews We were famished We ordered lamp chops, ribeye and fried lobster tail with red velvet waffle All separate dishes, all delicious. The lamb chops were thick cut and perfectly cooked medium rare. The diced potatoes were expertly seasoned with yellow,red and green peppers.
The ambiance was energetic with classic RNB and they offer hookah services with an electronic hookah.
