Eben Ezer Restaurant, formally known as Virginia’s Gorditas is located in South El Paso, 605 S. Mesa St, serves in my opinion the best gorditas on this side of town! I ordered the comida corida which consisted of a large caldo de rez soup and the main dish. The soup itself is more than plenty and very tasty! I ordered the ground beef Gorditas (two) as the main entrée. When my plate arrived, the gorditas were huge and filled with à tasty ground beef, plus the usual, rice and beans (home made not can beans). The meal was worth the trip. I would recommend the can drink instead of the powered lemonade. Overall I rate it a 8.5 that’s how delicious the food tasted.

Very good food and friendly service, the order had 4 barbacoa tacos and they were excellent, haven’t tried good authentic barbacoa here in El Paso in a very long time, would defined come back to try the rest of the menu only complaint is that they only accept cash :/

Gorditas are well sized. The actual corn shell was so tasty I enjoyed eating it more than the picadillo meat they stuff it with. The menudo was great, with just the right amount of spice. During the tamal season orders need to be placed way ahead of time because the wait is long. Too many people know about this gem. Virginia take great pride in her food check out her health department scores.

If you are visiting El Paso and want to try out some of the more local places, I highly recommend Virginia’s. Joe and his mother Virginia are super friendly and the food is amazing. We had the Menudo, mixed Gorditas, and the Barbacoa Burrito, which were all amazing. They close early on the weekend, so check the hours, but such good food, amazing prices, and super friendly owners that it is definitely worth it.

Was good before, but this last time food was super greasy and the gorditas were dripping with grease. The chicharron was salty…bad experience this last time. No aguas frescas! What happened virginia??
