Homestyle cooking, hearty portions with something for everyone. Between the 4 of us: we had liver and onions broiled scallops, and a club sandwich. Fried pickles as an appetizer, and the sides included fries, mashed potatoes, candied yams, spiced apples, and Mac & cheese. I don’t think any of us left any food on our plates. We planned on trying dessert but everyone was too full. Wish I wasn’t just passing thru: I’d love to come back!

Stopped here with a friend for Sunday lunch. Heard about this place from being on TV. It’s good southern home cooking to me. Enjoyed the meatloaf, Mac and cheese, and collards. Nothing fancy but worth the money. Nice little store in front as well. Service was quick and food out fast. If ever here again, I will definitely be returning.

I have been driving by Virginia Diner since I was a young girl on beautiful 460 scenic route on the way to the coastal beaches of Virginia through South Carolina. First time I …well worth the reputation it holds. Great food, great service and delicious double dipped chocolate peanuts.

Burrito says everyone’s grandparents fav. Dumpling says what you would expect from a buffet at a diner. We went on Easter and they were only doing a buffet, but we were told that the buffet is basically all the stuff on their regular menu. Everyone on staff was lovely and attentive. The food was good home cooking and we certainly left full. Although, it was not the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and everything else was good, but far from the best ever – nothing was a huge standout.

Very nice restaurant that we discovered almost by chance, reading the signs along the road but that would have been a pity to miss!

Always enjoy stopping here for Breakfast or Lunch. Last week it was breakfast. We had eggs with country ham and enjoyed the meal. They also have a buffet, but we just ordered off the menu. We also always pick up a can or 2 of peanuts when we visit. Worth a stop if you’re passing through on Rte 460!

I enjoyed the time looking around in the restaurant. The setup was very nice and the menus were very straight forward. I ordered some breakfast it was very good. I would recommend only coming here if you are interested in a more open environment and don’t really mind homemade food.

We’ve passed by here many times and finally decided to stop at this iconic place for dinner. The line to be seated was long but that wasn’t a problem. We checked out the many varieties of peanuts before getting to the counter. Then were told it would be a 10 minute wait. 20 minutes later we were still waiting even though we watched many ( I’d underline that if I could) tables leave. Finally seated and wait 10 minutes for a server to be told the buffet would be the best option as the kitchen was behind. The 3 parties who were before us in line were leaving as we’re giving our orders (not the buffet. Who knows how long food had been sitting there?) All of us ordered easy meals. Cheese steak, burger, club sandwich and BBQ. Took forever only for most of it to be cold. I paid $1 extra each for mushrooms and peppers. I got 2 peppers and couldn’t see any mushrooms. Was so not impressed. Checked that box but will never stop there again.
