Never got to taste the food to rate it but based on their attitudes its probably not good. Been seeing this sign for a few weeks and said im gonna stop by and try them out. I walk in and its hot inside. I started sweating immediately. I go to the screen to place my order and cant find the special. I then approach the window and try to get someone’s attn. A minute later an older gentleman comes and I ask. How do I place the order for the small oxtail special?
He says, “we’re sold out of the small. We only have medium or large.” To my confusion, how can you sell out of the small but still have medium and large. I literally been looking at your sign and came in because of that. Now he has an attitude that I brought up the sign and says you can only get medium or large. Good customer service would’ve honored the deal and made a small in a medium dish if thats really the issue. Will never return again. Too many Caribbean restaurants in the area to spend money here. Esp since I cant see any of the food. Its prob old and sitting unsanitary.

I was visiting Atl, and decided to give this place a shot since people on Tik tok was suggesting it. I can say It did not live up to the hype. I typically don’t like to eat African food from outside my family but decided to give it a try. I bought the okra soup with fufu and the fish and wings platter. The okra soup has some black oil that was sitting on top, I stirred it and tried eating it. Just tasted Bland. The lamb was ok-ish. The fufu I wasn’t a fan of. The wings were small as hell, and the fries were mid. Only things that i enjoyed was the peach drink and the fried tilapia. Other than that, doubt it’s a place I woukd reccomend.

Jerk Chicken Plate: Amazing! Chicken moist and the cabbage with the rice and peas was immaculate.
Catfish and Wing Combo: Catfish was very fishy! Either they need to wash the fish or wash the fish again. I couldn’t even eat it. The wings were cool!
I hate that the restaurant smells like a nail shop. It’s not pleasant and they really have to work on the venting system. My food even smells like the nail shop.
Glad I tried it, I won’t go again!

Do not eat here I dont even know why this place is in business. I orders a 10 piece combo for 16.99 plus tax which is ridiculous just for them to not give me real chicken. Photos attached. I tasted a wing and it did not taste like chicken at all. It had a wild taste to it and the “wings” were micro sized. Im not sure if they are using pidgins or rabbit meat but either all jokes aside they do not serve real chicken.

Pay attention to what you get don’t try everything unless you know what you’re getting from there. The wings and fries and drink combo was good but I messed up and got fried plantains because I was craving them. Now I love fried plantains I just had some the other week but this was different. They weren’t cut the triangle way ,they weren’t the kind that you know you can get out here that slap every time. I tried to rock with em cause I’m a guy that doesn’t believe in food going to waste especially if I spent my money. But these things here got my mouth itching and I don’t know what that is with them but pay attention to what you get again

I walked a mile and a half to this place to looking forward to trying the lemon pepper wings and ox tail, just to be told the restaurant does not sell food there. That you have to leave to go to a second location and have it door dashed there.
And the staff was not nice about either.
I even said I’d take anything to go and they said if I was hungry I should probably just go to Waffle House.
And I did. The Waffle House serves food and doesn’t give you attitude.
And I honestly think the staff are VIP is right. If you are hungry go somewhere else.
A restaurant that tells hungry customers to go somewhere else probably should not exist.
I went there hungry and left hungry.
Even giving VIP one star feels generous.
Luckily the staff is right VIP Wings is surrounded by better restaurants.

I’m a Harsh critic when it comes to food because I’m a 5 star chef. I say to myself “most it takeout because they can’t cook or don’t have the time”……l took a chance….VIP WINGS IS A HIT!!! I ordered the large oxtails and Cassava leaves!!!……OOOOOOOWEEEE this is my new Spot!!!

Yo I have been looking for good wings for a minute now. Atl used to be the wing capital. Not the wings are trash. VIP HITS HITS!!!! THE CAROLINA GOLDS ARE WHAT THE GAME BEEN MISSING. And you know a good wing spot when someone like me tried extra extra hot (and I don’t super hot like that at all) mouth burning but the flavor of the sauce popped harder than the spice. I t was so good and so hot I still asked for another one to switch out with and she wanted another of my golds. This place it’s def the divest wing spot as far as flavor and wings period, also I keep hearing about their jerk. I think the make their sauce from scratch because the y are beyond good.
