Food is amazing, we have tried the lunch Stromboli, chicken Parmesan and lasagne and ravioli. They have lunch specials Monday-Saturday that includes a salad and the most delicious bread with an olive oil dipping sauce. Definitely a little gem in downtown Overland Park!

I came here from Omaha, and this was the BEST Italian food. The environment was amazing. I loved the atmosphere and the way it is family owned. Everyone was so nice. The ravioli and cannolis were great. I have already sent Viona’s to my family to try next time they are in KC.

Have loved every dinner here and recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet! They don’t take reservations but will add you to the list if you call ahead about 20 min in advance. This is vital if you plan to show up anytime after 5 as they don’t have tons of tables and fill up for dinner. Get in early and you won’t have a problem. I had the chicken pomodoro last night which was awesome. My other to go is the chicken à la pesto which is nice and creamy. The lasagna gets a LOT of rave reviews from my husband and father in law. The bread starter and olive oil mix will delight you!

This Italian restaurant in Overland Park truly stands out! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal.

We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Supreme Pizza, which turned out to be one of the best pizzas we’ve had in the area. The crust was perfectly baked, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.

For entrees, we ordered the Shrimp Diavolo, Chicken Pomodoro, Shrimp A la Pesto, and Pasta Primavera (veg). Every dish was absolutely delicious, but the highlight was the fresh pesto sauce served on the side—so rich and flavorful that it elevated every bite.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. If you’re looking for a must-try Italian spot in Overland Park, this place is a winner!

We visited this restaurant during the busy holiday week, and unfortunately, the experience fell short compared to our previous visits, which had all been excellent.

The atmosphere remains cozy and intimate, but the service felt strained. Most of the staff seemed rushed and less welcoming than usual—with one notable exception: our actual server was friendly and attentive. He kept the wine flowing and in-laws topped off. However, there was a young woman (who appeared to be handling seating and clearing tables) who came across as quite unfriendly; she didn’t smile or engage with guests at all and moved abruptly around the dining area.

We also noticed a shift in the staff—previously there were some Italian speakers (I’m fluent myself), but this time no one seemed to speak Italian, and we overheard what sounded like Russian instead.

The biggest disappointment came at the end of the meal: we asked for our substantial leftovers to be packaged. They were taken away, but never returned. When we followed up with our server, he checked and came back to inform us that the food had already been thrown out. We were really let down—nothing could be done to retrieve or replace it, though he did kindly offer some bread and oil to take home as a gesture.

I’m chalking most of this up to the restaurant being extremely busy during the holidays. Overall, the visit was mediocre at best. That said, because our prior experiences here have been consistently great, we’re willing to give it one more try. I’ll update this review after our next visit.

Amazing little spot. Food was so fresh and delicious. Server was very attentive and patient. Very cozy atmosphere. Did not take long to get seated since we showed up right before they got hit with the Saturday dinner rush. Fettuccine was definitely good and the tortellini was amazing. The fried ravioli lives up to ALL the hype! Came with some family but definitely looking forward to coming back for a date night soon!

We had a nice, late lunch here on a Sunday. The outside patio provided great shade. The service was fabulous. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had a bottle of wine, two entrees, and a dessert for $85. Very impressed with the prices. The food was tasty, as well! Highly recommend coming here to eat a meal!

After multiple delightful experiences at Viona’s Italian Bistro I was eager to have them cater our “Worksgiving”! Despite the ongoing Farmer’s Market construction in the area, this charming family-owned Italian gem truly shines. The warm, welcoming intimate dine in atmosphere and attentive service make you feel right at home. The catering was no different, she helped me plan a variety of entrees to be served buffet style for a group of 30 (mostly men) and executed it beautifully with leftovers. Their authentic dishes, with rich yet perfectly balanced, flavorful pastas and sauces, are crafted with fresh ingredients and love. Don’t let the construction deter you—this hidden treasure is ABSOLUTELY worth the visit. Supporting local businesses like this keeps the heart of our community alive. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine!

Don’t let the construction stop you from visiting local businesses in downtown Overland Park.

It may be inconvenient to walk a little way to your destination, but it’s definitely worth it.  We stopped in Viona’s for lunch on Saturday, and it was amazing. It’s was a cool and quiet place to rest after shopping in our busy OP Farmer’s Market.

Luka served fantastic appetizers and pasta. I had a glass of wine, and my husband had cheesecake for dessert- delicious meal! We then walked six minutes back to our car, which justified the pasta dishes we chose. It’s was good for us to exercise anyway. But if you do need to park close, they have a parking adjacent to the restaurant (just take 79th to Marty).

Downtown OP is going to be fabulous when they are done, so please don’t let construction discourage you from supporting those businesses who have less foot traffic right now. And definitely visit Viona’s!

I was absolutely blown away. 9.5 (10 for me is God came down and served me food himself)

The muscles were the best sauce I have ever had with muscles. Delicious. 9.75.

Chef’s Choice – Wow! I mean wow. So good. The sauce, the chicken, the pasta. Wow. 9.5.

Viva Italia – My wife got this. I tried some. We both felt it was delicious and maybe the best pasta we’ve ever had. She gave it a 9, I said 9.5.

Atmosphere was fantastic and the service was even better.

You cannot call yourself a fan of Italian food until you’ve ate here. Family owned truly authentic Italian food. You cannot find better.
