Passing through stopped in..thinking golf course off season?? So happy we stopped. The food was excellent and pricing good for entrees. Relaxing upscale atmosphere..perfect! Three of us=Veal Marsala, lasagna and stuffed shrimp soup lobster bisque. Delicious.
Soup or salad included too.

I’ve only been here twice, and both times were memorable. Bartender even remembered me haha. I strongly recommend the prime rib on Thursdays! I dod not take a picture of it, sadly. But the burger and wings were also amazing!

We had a “meh” experience at Violi’s. We had never been there before, and were definitely treated like outsiders, like we didn’t belong, and our presence was merely tolerated. I had the Lobster Ravioli and my wife had the Chicken Marsala. We agreed that the red sauce had a really nice home made flavor. My wife liked her chicken, and I enjoyed the ravioli. Unfortunately we forgot our leftovers. We really were looking forward to having them the next day. However, due to the atmosphere, we won’t be going back.

Mediocre food quantity at best. My steak, was ordered medium rare and was served as a cool medium rare, so I can’t complain too much there, other than I was a very fatty cut. (It is what it is). Because of the almost properly cooked stew, they’ve earned their 2 stars from me. Violi’s does not earn any other because of the leather tough veal piccata, the BOILED chicken Marsala, and because of my empty iced tea. You can’t tell me it wasn’t boiled…unless it was microwaved fully. My tea was empty for about 15/20 minutes, then when the waiter came by filling waters, the pointed and requested a refill. He said he couldn’t hear me because it was too loud, which I’ll agree with, but contextual hints of the environment and each of our respective roles would lead the reasonable person to think I wanted more tea. Give me a break, it wasn’t too loud for him to see me pointing towards my empty iced tea.

After walking around the table I re-stated I would like some more tea upon his earliest convenience, which he then proceeded to take my glass to actually refill it somewhere else.

Extremely poor waitstaff table side manner.

Violi’s in Meriden, CT, is undoubtedly the most picturesque restaurant in town, offering the best views and an unforgettable dining experience. This special spot holds a dear place in my heart, as it’s where my husband TJ and I were married in 2007. Ever since, Violi’s has been our go-to for special occasions, especially our anniversary.

The fettuccine carbonara at Violi’s is my absolute favorite—nothing else compares. The rich, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta are simply divine. And let’s not forget the garlic knots, which are out of this world!

With its charming ambiance and impeccable service, Violi’s is the perfect setting for any celebration or romantic evening. If you’re looking for a place to make lasting memories, Violi’s is the place to be.

This was a disappointing experience to say the least. We were hopeful because of the good reviews and a friendly greeting from one of the waitresses. My wine glass was dirty with finger and lip prints on it and I had to tell the waitress. We ordered a few apps and they all tasted like they had been pulled out of the freezer and plated. No flavor, the shrimp literally tasted like nothing. We told the waitress twice it was no good and she just said ok. Didn’t seem like she was surprised by hearing this. We wound up leaving without ordering entrees because we didn’t want any more bad food. There were also flies that kept trying to attack our food while eating. I get one will happen every now and then but we shouldn’t be waving them off the whole meal while indoors. Needless to say we won’t be back.

Everything was fabulous, food, Eddie the waiter and the atmosphere. They serve decent portions. You can dress up or casual. I will definitely go back to Viola’s.

Visiting from New York and picked this place based on reviews/menu. Glad I did! Friendly vibe, warm and friendly service, and delicious mussels (mussels are the tell tale sign for me). The mussels were served with freshly made ginormous garlic knot! Wowza! The best part was meeting Vickie, the bartender, who was born in the same hospital as me in Brooklyn!

This place was an unexpected treat…on a golf course with beautiful scenery and outdoor seating. We had lunch thinking the portion size would be on the smaller side especially when it is accompanied by soup or salad but it was a decent amount. The garlic bread they bring to the table was really good and the service was quick. I ordered the shrimp scampi which was okay – the shrimp were “plump” as described. I would go back to try other menu items.
