Celebrated a birthday at Violet and it did not disappoint. We got the American Omakase 5 course tasting menu – 0 complaints!! They were able to accommodate a vegetarian tasting menu as well. Everything was delicious. There wasn’t a non-alcoholic beverage menu, but they made two wonderful mocktails based on my taste preferences and I loved them. Would 100% recommend.

Only reason I took a star off for atmosphere is because it was really cold inside – I had to keep my coat on the entire time.

Violet is a lovely restaurant within walking distance of the Capitol Hill lightrail station if you don’t live in the neighborhood. The service was great. Everyone was professional and friendly. My friend and I did the tasting menu because too many dishes sounded delicious. I enjoyed each one from an attention to visual and taste perspective.

I’d give this restaurant 3 stars. I’ll start with what didn’t work for us.
First, the quality of the food was disappointing. The steak didn’t seem like a very good cut, and the salad was overly salty. Overall, most of the dishes were just okay and didn’t really stand out. The only dish we really enjoyed was the scallops — good portion and great flavor.
The service was also not great. Empty plates stayed on the table for a long time and weren’t cleared, and no one really checked in to ask how the food was or if we needed anything.
Another issue was the restroom — the toilet handle was broken and wouldn’t flush, which is something that should definitely be fixed in a restaurant.
The atmosphere also didn’t really match the prices on the menu. For that price point, you expect a higher level of food quality and service.
Overall, the restaurant was a bit disappointing. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve.

Wow. This was the best meal and the best service we have had in a year. Delicious and beautiful food were served to us in the omakase experience and the wine pairing was outstanding. Was the perfect spot to celebrate our daughter’s birthday!

American omakase. Overall food was excellent. My taste buds are not used to highly seasoned food. So after clarifying with the server about my preferences, the pork belly was perfectly seasoned. Chocolate mouse with poached pear, excellent!

Great dining experience. Very cute vibe inside and it was a quieter night for a Thursday with lots of reservations available. Service was lovely and though they seemed to be out of quite a few wines, ultimately had great alternative recommendations. Menu is small and seasonal, but everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We ended up sharing 2 starters and 2 entrees and were too full for dessert. This is a great date night spot or intimate friend dinner – we will absolutely be back!

Wow – I cannot say enough good things about our dinner at Violet! The lamb was out of this world and Nicholas provided some of the best service I’ve personally experienced in Seattle. It’s not often you find a restaurant that has both in spades… Violet is a must visit restaurant and one we will surely be coming back to!

Solid place. I kinda regret not having tried this place earlier. The food was really great. The service was great. The owner, William, was great. 5 out of 5, will definitely come again.

Edit: tried it again. Still amazing. This time tried the pork belly and the black berry sauce is outright genius.

Amazing food. This place serves fine dining dishes in a relaxed casual atmosphere. The burrata with strawberries was quite a delightful appetizer. The pork belly and the asparagus risotto were both stunning main courses. The chocolate mouse with blackberries dessert was a bit underwhelming. The drinks were fine.

The service was very amiable. Our server was super friendly, and everything came out in a timely manner. At $80 per person, this place is a hidden gem in Seattle.

I celebrated my birthday recently at Violet with a group of friends. We all loved everything we ordered. Both food and drinks were great. Service was excellent and I really liked that the restaurant was not very loud and we could talk. The restaurant feels very cozy. Overall it was a great experience! Thank you!
