I had the Ravioli in Lynchburg which was delicious, but the Halifax location didn’t even have it on the menu. I don’t think I have ever eaten at an Italian restaurant that didn’t serve Ravioli.
I settled for the small Italian salad which consisted of lettuce, a few tomato wedges, some green olives, sliced white onions, and a tiny bit of cucumber. I was charged for extra ranch dressing. I also ordered the Canoli which consisted of 2 teeny tiny 1/2 stuffed tubes that were mediocre at best.
My son got the cheese sticks which didn’t even come with marinara dipping sauce, and a Meat Lovers pizza, and we both got a diet drink.
Our bill without tip came to $40.87
There was no table service here, it was like a fast food Italian take-out joint. You place your order at a window, drinks are self serve, and you pick your order up at another window when your number is called.
Even though we were dining in, the food was served in to-go containers.
I am not sure how long this restaurant has been in business, but the inside is very shabby and run down.
There was a small mural on one wall, and a potted plant with Christmas lights on it in lieu of “decorations. “
It did appear to be fairly clean. There were only about 4 other customers inside.
I only ate about 1/3 of my salad, and went to the counter to ask for a lid to take it home with me. The girl behind the counter rolled her eyes, and tossed the dirty finger smudged lid at me like a frisbee.
Due to the complete lack of customer service, and the limited menu, I don’t think that I will be returning.
Not a place I am planning to return to.
His First Watermelon Fest was amazing and loads of fun for the kids!
We will try this restaurant one more time, but honestly, I’m starting to despair of finding good Italian food and pizza down here.
