This place has good wings. They are not the meatiest, but they are tasty. I got the mango habanero, which I highly suggest. I can’t suggest the cheese fries though. They came out and the cheese was hard and chewy. The fries would just tear.

Place has great atmosphere. Feels like a friendly pub. Seats are comfortable.

Service is good. Had to wait for some things, but not too bad. Took a little time to get someone’s attention to order a drink.

I’d probably give this place the first four stars just based on fond memories, but we stopped in before a game and the Bine delivered in spades! We arrived 4 hours before the game and the place already had great energy. We were able to park through the game for only $20 and found a table with no wait.

Our server was nice and efficient and the wings were as good as I remembered! For the atmosphere, food and location, this is an easy 5 stars. We’ll be stopping back when we’re in town again in a few weeks!

Stopped by before a football game for some food and drinks. (2 hours before kickoff?) We always skipped this place because it looks very crowded from the outside. However as we were walking to the game, we figured we would give it a try. We were very happy we did and will go back. Plenty of food with everything we ordered.

The wings were good, but I’d avoid the sweet chili sauce. There aren’t sauce descriptions on the menu, apart from the names, so you may not expect it to be mayo-based.

We got the little Jo sliders. The grilled onions were left off, the bun was so lightly toasted, we just thought it was stale, and the patty was overcooked. The fries were cold.

Service was great.

Perfect place for dinner before heading over to campus for a game. It has a great atmosphere, and a bar full of Hawkeye fans. A definite must visit everytime we are in town. Go Hawks!

Great meals off the gameday menu. Super waitress, fast service, very attentive. First time eating here. Before a women’s bb game. Wife had grilled chicken sandwich, I had the Philly. Everything perfect. Definitely on the short list for a revisit.

Great atmosphere! Food was awesome with perfect portions!
Sports bar with typical American style menu but food was so much better than any typical sports bar. Go here instead of Buffalo Wild Wings.
Will definitely be back!

I just moved to Iowa and am so disappointed with my first experience at Vine Tavern. I ordered take out, and per what they advertise on their own website they sale fried pickle chips. What I ended up receiving, was fried pickle spears. I’m sorry, but those are NOT the same thing. It’s not a being picky thing either. I would have never ordered if I knew they would have replaced with spears instead. Their picture clearly shows chips. I didn’t eat them.

If that was the only issue, I might not even have left a review, but I also ordered the chicken baked potato. First, there was no butter or sour cream. The cheese and bacon were so minimal that after mixing and breaking up the spud….they’re barely visible. The picture shows what it looked like after mixing it. No toppings had been removed or eaten. This is literally what I received. Not edible unless I went to the store and bought stuff to put on it. Beyond disappointing. Paid $30 for food I didn’t even eat.

The food was just mediocre. The music was too loud. I was disappointed, I was hoping for something better. I had a wrap, my wife had a salad, neither looked particularly appetizing. My wife’s salad had some scurvy looking pieces she had to pick out. My wrap wasn’t very flavorful. My onion rings were good. There are many other options that would be better in IC/Coralville.

Ok. The last 2 times I’ve been to The Vine let’s just say the service sucked. So, I try to give them the benefit of doubt before I decide I’m never going to back to a place. Like the 3 strikes and you are out rule. Well I gave it another chance and once again the service is horrible. So, today will be the last time I go to The Vine.
