This Family owned Italian restaurant and pizzeria is legit. The restaurant was passed down to the current owner, who was so friendly. He knew we were flight attendants on a layover and came over to talk to us about the family owned restaurant and see how if we enjoyed our dinner. It was delicious and definitely affordable. The food took a little longer to come out but that was because it is a made from scratch kitchen. Excellent service!!!

It’s truly an honor and a blessing to have a place like this in our neighborhood. Vince and Mary started their first restaurant back in 1956 at 87th and Sangamon, and their legacy lives on here at the current location since 1967. This is an old-school, classic Italian Chicago, family-run restaurant is full of heart.

They serve the best food on the South Side because every dish is made with LOVE and tradition. Thank you to John, Mickey, and the whole family for keeping this Chicago treasure alive for all of us!

I’ve been ordering from Vince’s Pizza for over six years, but tonight was the final straw.

I placed a delivery order at 6:30 PM, knowing it was a busy night with the Bears game. I expected a longer wait and figured up to an hour and a half was reasonable. Instead, the order took over two hours to arrive, and every item was cold. The pizza, shrimp, Italian beef, and fries were all cold, not lukewarm.

When I called to complain, I got the same guy who always answers the phone. He was rude, dismissive, and immediately defensive. I asked for a refund for the pizza and shrimp, which felt like the least they could do after a two-hour wait and cold food. He refused, blamed being backed up, and offered to send out another order, which made no sense after already waiting that long.

He eventually agreed to refund only the pizza, even though all the food was cold, and then told me I was being unreasonable. When I said they were going to lose a customer of six years over this, he started swearing at me.

Mistakes happen. Busy nights happen. Swearing at customers and refusing to take responsibility is unacceptable. The service here is disgusting, and they’ve lost a long-time customer because of it, largely due to the person answering the phones.

There are plenty of better pizza places in Chicago that actually respect their customers.

Ok, its a local pizza joint and the pizza is pretty good. There is two problems that caused such a bad rating. The older guy who works there is extremely rude. Everytime I go and have to deal with him, he is just unfriendly and inappropriate. He didn’t give me my whole order last time, when I called he acted bothered and didn’t even apologize or offer a sulotion, even though he agreed he didn’t give my whole order. The second reason, the pizza is never hot when I pick it up, it just warm. In conclusion, if you want a pretty good pizza and can put up with horrible customer service, its a ok local spot.

Been craving a true Chicago tavern-style pie and Vince’s delivered. I had the sausage thin crust and it was on point, crisp, well-cooked, and exactly the kind of neighborhood pizza Chicago does best.

I know friends in Clearing have a long history with this place, but this was my initiation, and I loved it.

The dining room is comfortable, classic, and the staff is genuinely friendly. A bunch of them have been working here forever, and it shows in the service.

Worth noting, Tuesday is half-price pizza, so it’s a perfect night to test the waters. Follow them on Facebook for updates and specials.

Family-owned, still run by Vince’s sons, and it feels like it. I’ll be back. I can’t wait to try the buffet.

Amazing made to order Italian American food. The meatball sandwich on garlic bread was heavenly!

The staff was friendly and attentive. The owner operator was an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to chat with. 10/10. Highly recommend!

This place is a must! I have never seen bigger portions in my life! I swear one meal is enough for four meals. They give you so much sauce, which is homemade, and the service is second to none. Very cozy, clean and beautiful atmosphere.

They might be the first sit down restaurant I went to on my own as a kid.
I’d start out with pizza because it’s great.
They have a buffet deal certain days of the week, it’s all good you can probably go every day there’s a buffet the food changes up so there’s not a lot of repetitive stuff,
From left to right they have a soups and salads section with a bunch of dressings.
The cold sides section with things like potato salad and pasta salads.
A hot main entree section always has fresh pizzas and a like 4 meat and pasta entrees. Sausage and meatballs, Maybe pasta entree without meat.
They have a little fresh homemade bread section.
And a dessert section that has around 4 different deserts.
The food is all really good, you can tell it’s all made from scratch, by the way you can taste the tomatoes in the sauce and the meats in the pasta.
I’d guess crammed packed they can fit 75-100 people. There is a bar if you wanna eat there.
