The menu features mostly pizza, sandwiches, and a few pasta dishes. We were hoping for more, but since we were already here, we decided on the fried mushroom appetizer, a small veggie pizza, and the chicken parmesan as relatively safe bets given what the place looked like. The first thing that came out was the side salad. It was not reassuring to see that it was chilled (i.e. it was prepped earlier and kept in the fridge) and came in a plastic bowl.
First impressions are deceiving.
Once I looked it over, I noticed that it had zucchini slivers in it rather than the more common cucumbers. In addition, the croutons were not just regular bread cubes – some of them were pizza dough cubes! While overall, it was still a pretty common side salad, those two were nice additional touches. The next thing to come out were the fried mushrooms. We steeled ourselves for heavily coated and greasy items and were pleasantly surprised that those large lumps we were served were actually vey large mushroom halves with only a relatively light batter. The serving size was quite large. The dipping sauce that came with it was a disappointment though. It was thin and watery. It had a nice flavor, but we were wondering why it was so thin as it did not stick to the mushroom batter at all. The batter lacked flavor, so we looked around for the obligatory parmesan shaker, but none of the tables had them. The sauce did not provide enough, so we ended up using salt.
The pizza was also a mix of good and bad. The crust was very flavorful but it was stretched too thin in the center so it did not hold the toppings well and could not be picked up by hand – eating pizza with a knife and fork is not our preferred way, after all. ( ). The quantity of topping was too much for the pizza in general, but they were tasty. In addition to no Parmesan shaker, there was also no pepper flake shaker on the tables, which seemed odd to us in a pizza joint.
The chicken parm was really good. It was done very well with two nicely pounded chicken breasts prepare well. While it normally comes with spaghetti, I asked for a different pasta and mine came with Penne. The pasta was cooked correctly and the red sauce was very tasty and the correct consistency for the dish. It was really enjoyable!
Overall, a few flaws but a good meal. The price was extremely reasonable given the quantity of food we received. Wait staff was very helpful, personable and accommodating. The limited menu means it will not be a regular stop for us, but when you are in the mood for what they do offer, they do a nice job.
Updated review, the calzones are good. This this is the hot sausage peppers and onion large Stromboli

Cute little tucked away restaurant. Got subs here, kind of expensive and small portion for $9.00 regular Italian sub. Lots of italian dressing on the sub, you may want to specify less.
