Second recommendation: Vegetables really shine here. Get a few to try! The cabbage was a highlight with a great, smoky flavor coming through. Cauliflower was also awesome.
We also had sticky ribs (outstanding), but I think it was a limited menu offering. If you have the option – get them.
Friendly service all around. We had a delicious and fun date night here!
The wife and I got the following; appetizers sardine, laab carpaccio, and fried catfish.
I was impressed with the fried catfish, very fresh, tender, and well seasoned. The portion was also very generous with a side of fresh salad, pickled carrots, cucumbers, and jalepeno. To top it off was NamPric, a type of Thai chili.
We also got all of their 4 Kua Txob. The Momma Vang and Fermented Shrimp Chili were the best.
For the entree, we ordered their grilled fish, and crabby fried rice.
I’m Hmong so a lot of the food hit me, so I do recommend trying this place out and would come back.
The sardine was, well disappointing, very oily, basic, and tasteless, so I would avoid this dish.
The laab carpaccio was good, but be sure to get the different hot sauces to eat with as it needs a bit of fish sauce, I would not use the Fermented Shrimp Chili with it, however the rest of the hot sauce pairs well with it.
The cocktail Cool as. Cucumber was really good, Chef Yia’s mom garden grown Hmong cucumber really made it. Cucumber freshness with a slight bitterness brought it all together very well.
The service was good and friendly. It’s a bit pricey for sure, but if you’re new to Hmong cuisine I would highly recommend. The twist, plating, and flavors are addicting for sure. Overall experience was great.
We ordered a bunch of dishes and everything was so good. The deviled eggs were a great starter, the curry crab cakes were full of flavor, and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and came with this amazing citrus curry sauce that makes the whole dish. ( definitely a dish for sharing). The nutty green beans were delicious, and the beef tartare was super fresh and tasty.
If you’re into Hmong food (or want to try something new), definitely check this place out. We’ll for sure be back!
Our favorite bite of the night was the Shrimp & Pork Toast. The Apricot Chile was a perfect complement to the toast.
In addition, the Charred Cabbage was a standout. For such a simple vegetable, the dish had complex flavors, and left us wanting more.
Lastly, the Pineapple Madness dessert was a light way to wrap up the meal.
Overall, this was a fantastic dinner, and I would definitely visit again in the future!
They served: Hilltribe Grilled Chicken, Hmong Pork Sausage, Marinated Tofu, Seasonal Roasted Vegetables and Purple Sticky Rice. Everything was excellent (the rice was okay). My favorites were the Hmong Pork Sausage, and the Roasted Vegetables. The sausage had just the right amount of heat, and the vegetables were fresh, flavorful, and still crispy.
Will definitely check out the restaurant, next time we are in town.
First, excellent service – the food was outstanding. Pork Chop, catfish, Crabby Rice and Braised Beef were the tables favorites!
The one thing that stood out the most was the Owner and Head Chef was out cleaning tables, setting tables and making sure the experience was right for all guests. I truly love to see that kind of leadership.
We were surprised at the end when the bill came and we received 2 comped deserts for the the Birthday boys! Outstanding experience!
What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond – attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had the best experience possible. Truly out-of-this-world service that made the meal feel special.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for enjoying a great night out. This is definitely a must-visit spot and one I’ll be coming back to again.
