High end breakfast: the upscale ambience could in itself make the experience. Still, the menu also contributes very positively: its classic local elements are finely tuned to bring their “common” tastes to excellence (pancakes in particular). Comes at a (reasonably expected) high price. Worth a shot!

We picked Villard for breakfast/ brunch due to the high reviews and beautiful photos. The ambiance did not disappoint. The food, however was mediocre and highly overpriced for the quantity and quality. The waiter we had was very abrupt and rushed and spilled coffee on our table. The steak served with the breakfast menu was of poor quality; chewy and dry, although cooked medium.

My husband, son and I stayed at Lotte Hotel earlier this month, just for spring break. The dining is expensive. I don’t mind, however the service is appalling. During our week, we are ate at Villard multiple times. My last straw was the morning we were leaving. As a party of 3, they didn’t remove our extra dining plates and give us water after 20 minutes. When this white waiter initially came to my table, he was shaking. I’m a black woman, white husband, white passing child. We all were in a great mood, but his energy was terrible. He took forever to come to our table to take our order, while I’m watching the same server go back to other tables multiple times. I complained to the manager, of course what your average white person does is minimize the experience of the black person no matter what social status, and make excuses for the white server.

Didn’t stay here, but used the parking garage which is extremely expensive as well at this location. $60 for a little over 2 hrs. and $10. tax It’s along Madison Ave and is typical for this section of the city. Tax is over 18% as well. Place is beautiful inside and rooms start close to $400. a night
