Food was delicious, but quite pricey as others have noted. Enjoyed lemon mascarpone pancakes and eggs Benedict in what used to be the music room of the Villard mansion. Service was impeccable. I would have preferred a bit more quiet, but would return.

During our 4 day stay at The Lotte Palace we grabbed breakfast a couple of times as we had a $100 daily credit credit. While the physical dining area and restaurant is quite nicely decorated and has a nice aura about it, the cost of this place for a simple breakfast is criminal and to be honest completely ruins any positive feeling one may have about the place. $51 for two eggs, 2 little sausages, a few potatos, some toast and some cofee. $12 for half an avocado! Service is “professional” though I wouldn’t say very friendly and as others have said more transactional. They politely offer you orange juice or grapefruit juice as you sit, not indicating it’s almost $10 for a small glass. During our stay in NY we ate at Michelin rated restauarants which were cheaper than this!! If you can get over the prices, the food is actually pretty good. They know how to cook their eggs very and the basic egg can be a tricky thing to get right at some places.

The place is very pretty, although ambiance is better fitted for drinks than breakfast, it is quite dark in the main room. When it comes to food, it is definitely pricey for what it is, I had a latter and a coconut yogurt with granola, with tax and gratuity it was $45. Yogurt was pretty tasty, but the latter wasn’t great, just get regular coffee. American breakfast looked very mediocre, presentation and type of food. Avocado Toast is pretty, and I heard lamb shakshuka is pretty good. Don’t expect amazing service either.

Service was absolutely terrible. Rude, forceful and rushed. We don’t pay attention to prices but when we got the bill we were shocked that ONE CUP of coffee was $11. No wonder we were asked at least 5 times, in a demanding and aggressive manner if we wanted more coffee. The tips on just two cups of coffee is great!
The ambience is nice, the guest atmosphere was ok but that’s about it. The bacon was pretty terrible. And the dishes uninspiring and absolutely insanely priced. There are so many amazing breakfast places in NYC, if you are not a tourist and stay at the hotel anyway, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Villard every day during our stay at Lotte New York Palace, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant’s interior is absolutely stunning, with its beautiful, historic architecture adding an elegant touch to every meal.

The food was consistently delicious, offering a variety of well-prepared dishes that made each morning special. But what truly stood out was the exceptional service we received, particularly from Shoyeb. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and commitment to ensuring we had a great experience made all the difference.

Villard is not just a place to eat—it’s an experience.

Beautiful restaurant with ancient decor that adds a lot of character to this place. The only problem is that the service here is very slow. People are nice, they seem short-staffed, and the staff are not well trained.

You can stare at the eye as they walk towards you, and yet they will be completely oblivious that you need them and tries to get their attention, and they will just walk by and ignore you. It seems that they are actively avoiding eye contact with something Rather than looking out to help. You literally have to slack them down. Wave your hand with huge gesture that people could see you miles away and then they will come by. And I’m not exaggerating. For the price we pay, we expect a little more attentive way staff and a bit better service than this.

I had breakfast at the Villard while staying at the Lotte Palace Hotel recently. The food itself was delicious. I had it via room service the day before as well. The French toast was to die for and the bacon is done extremely well. Today I had the shakshouka, which was delicious but had ONE poached egg in it for $37!! My biggest complaint was inconsistent service…I was seated next to the server station, and it was chaotic. Arguing, slamming drawers, rustling silverware…it was anything but peaceful and organized. Id also note, breakfast here is NOT cheap. I’d recommend breakfast here but would stick to room service given the option.

Very poor experience. I did not enjoy my meal. I noticeably did not eat it. Our server did not ask if I’d like something else instead. He then billed us for it. I asked to remove it. He didn’t apologize or acknowledge. He simply removed it and gave us the check. Very transactional. No personability, no service. Horrible. Our server was Alain.

Service here leaves much to be desired. After being seated, our server asked us for any drinks to which I myself replied with a polite refusal. I said i didn’t want any drinks and yet I was asked if i wanted any drinks 4 times after that! Server asked me if i wanted any coffee to which i refused again. And still, our server poured me coffee which I never ordered. It makes me feel like server doesn’t even listen or care. Food is not exceptional or special, regular breakfasts and foods. They do look nice but for the price the restaurant could do much better in terms of service and food.

Total joke. Just have a look at the receipt. $9.5 tropicana juice that was poured without us asking for it. Terrible service. The greek yogurt came with cheap garbage granola. The $19 berries were old and partially rotten. The $15 espresso served in a coffee cup not espresso cup? $11.5 coffee? Common. I am a new yorker. I am used to be taking advantage of. So if I am going to massively overpay, at least give me the service to go with it. Provide high end service, nice glasses, fresh juice, high end granola, excellent service. A corner diner would have offered a better meal.
