I enjoy stopping in and having good food, good drink, and great conversations. I appreciate the vegetarian options and local beer selection. I have been there a few times now and have always met some of the most interesting people, on both sides of the bar! Shout out to The Twins ✌

THEY DONT HAVE THE POTION DRINKS FROM THE PHOTOS ANYMORE!!

Drink and food:
First time ever here and didn’t have the best time. Arrived around 4:30 PM. They open at 4 Pm. Came for the cool potion themed drinks and was told by bartender Fae that they don’t do those anymore. When I asked about them still being on the menu and seeing potion bottles on the bar Fae said she could make something up and put one of the potion bottles and make it a mocktail. The potion drinks are still on the menu and they specifically say they are non alcoholic. So I was confused when she made it very clear it would be a mocktail. I thought that entailed there was a alcoholic version, you know since she said she could throw one together if I really wanted one. I asked if there was an alcoholic version and she cut me off before I could even finish asking the question. She then became very demeaning and explained to me what a mock tail was like I was 5 years old. ” no alcohol, it looks like a alcoholic drink but its not. It mocks it, you know? Hence the word MOCK-TAIL”. “Yes im very aware what a mocktail is” I informed her. After clearing up that with her I ordered. I got the special which was a buffalo burger and fries. I waited 1 hour for a burger that was supposedly made from scratch.

DONT COME HERE IF YOURE HUNGRY. Ticket times are about an hour for hotdogs and burgers and the food isn’t really worth the wait.

As being it is advertised its made from scratch I thought maybe its worth the wait. It was not. The patty itself was seasoned with, what tasted like, a taco seasoning pack from the store. There was barely any buffalo sauce on my burger. The fries where nicely seasoned and very salty. They just don’t give you alot of fries. Im pretty sure a small fry from McDonald’s comes with more fries. Overall the food was nothing special. A bit overpriced even for the taste and portion size. (15.00) for a burger. It seems like they expect you to be playing on one of their many DnD tables so you don’t notice the wait times.

THE ATMOSPHERE WAS REALLY COOL.

Seeing a life size terminator and Dr. DOOM was really cool. There are arcade machines and some statues located throughout the place. They have board games for rent and purchase. Several very cool DnD tables with screens in the middle for maps or other information your DnD campaign may need. Overall the atmosphere was the best part.

Final thoughts and notes:
This review was written same day as experience (1/17/26). Every single table was taken during my visit here and only the 2 person bar tables and the bar itself had seating. I thought the 1 hour wait time for food was because they were so busy but there are other reviews that say the same thing so its a common thing to wait an hour, and being made from scratch shouldn’t be synonymous with taking a long time. Im also willing to bet that they do still have potion drinks and we were lied to in order to save time because they were so busy. Other wise why would they still be on the menu? And why would there still be potion glasses. I’m also willing to forgive and forget the demeaning conversation we had realizing Fae was the only person behind the bar and the only person serving and taking food orders, so I get she was stressed.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you had lots of time to kill or was hosting visitors and wanted a place to hang out. If you have the time to burn (1 hour for food) it’s a fun experience.

I came to KY for a work trip and wanted to check out this place on my own for its creative drinks and fun atmosphere. It was nothing short of what I expected. The staff Mickey and Jack were very welcoming and I had awesome conversations with them. One even showed me his unique watch collection. I am definitely inspired to nerd out more since visiting this place. I enjoyed my visit so much that I bought a t shirt to rep them wherever else I go! Thank you Villainous staff for all the laughs and stories! To future customers – if you are one to want to sit down and play board games with someone then definitely bring a friend! Otherwise, having a drink, snacking and vibing is a fun thing to do here alone! :)) maybe bring a project or a book to do on your own as well

Saw this place when I googled things near the Central Bank Center and Rupp was at Scarefest. This place had great vintage arcade games to entertain while waiting for food. Didn’t even mind the wait there was a bachelor party that came in before us. It was a fun experience will go back with my kids were pretty happy with this place. Didn’t mind sitting at the bar at all. Overall will be back. I told my stepsister who lives in town to go to this place! The bartender girl was really sweet!!!

We love Villainous! We go to play games pretty regularly but the food is so good that I would go for just food even if we weren’t going to play a game too. They even have a few vegan/vegetarian options which is really awesome for a menu mostly American/bar food themed. Check out the specials board when you come in, they always have really yummy items hidden there! Everything is reasonably priced and we are also in the membership club which offers even better deals. Make sure you book a table unless you play to sit at the bar, it’s stays busy! The staff is soooo nice and couldn’t be more friendly or more helpful. Though we typically bring our own games, they also have a great selection of games available to check out and play!

If you’re looking for a small gaming bar this is the place! Had a great time playing Cards Against Humanity at the bar with friends. Food was good and the service was great. I would suggest becoming a member ($2-$4) in order to reserve a table since seating is pretty limited. Great place to tabletop game and enjoy company!

I didn’t know what to think about this place when our friend group suggested a table top gaming bar. It was the best experience an adult can have at a bar. No one was fighting or acting up. The bartenders were very good at their craft. The place had lots of cool props and memorabilia. Loads of games or bring your own. Did I mention you can drink mead from a horn?

Villainous is a great experience! Never experienced a tabletop bar before where we could play RPGs or board games before and I am so happy to have this place in Lexington! The staff is usually two people so they can keep costs affordable and provide a great setting for nerds to gather and meet!

Keep being excellent Villainous! We’ll keep reserving tables for our game nights! Love that you have my favorite cider in stock!
