Social Profile:

The Village Tap was established on June 6, 1990 in the heart of Roscoe Village. Our success has been built around an emphasis on hospitality, an exceptional selection of draft beer, and one of Chicagos best beer gardens. We have always tried our best to make our staff and guests proud of who we are. We were one of the first establishments in Chicago to embrace the craft beer movement in the early 1990’s and to this day strive to provide one of the best selections of draft beer anywhere. The beer garden is a big part of our history as well. When a retractable roof was added, we became one of the first year round, heated beer gardens in Chicago. Come in and see why we have been voted the best bar in Chicago!

Local tavern with dozens of beers & gastropub eats served in cozy surroundings & a beer garden.

Perfect neighborhood dive bar in the inside with seats out front and a nice patio out back. If you are coming here you have to order the chicken Cesar Wrap, it’s enough for two people to split and one of the top in all of Chicago.

They have good food overall but they are def known for their wrap, but I’d also recommend a burger.

Patio is great in the spring and summer and there are TVs to watch any game you’d like. Perfect mix of families and others just hanging out.

Bar and grill with a very neighborhood feel. Load, colorful, and a feeling that half the people there know each other.

Service was quick and portions were generous. The pub food was incredibly tasty.

Definitely a gem of a spot.

Would give the atmosphere a 10 if I could! Had the best day of my life here

Was in the $20/30 per person range. Would’ve paid double

If I wasn’t so full I would’ve loved to try the shrimp po boy (not sure if still on menu but saw it on the google link)

Quintessential Chicago neighborhood pub. Village tap gets a 10/10 on the vibe scale. Darker divey vibes on the interior with a spacious beer garden out back with plenty of seating. Popular spot that fills up on the weekends.

The Caesar wrap is their most known menu item (rightfully so) but the menu is full of gems. Big portions all around. I recommend the cheese curds as well. Service is pretty solid.

Used to go here all the time back when they first opened until I left Roscoe village in 2001. Always loved the atmosphere, ppl and staff even though the ppl and staff have changed. I was gone for 22 years living in New Orleans. Went back yesterday, and everything is still the way I left it except I had my 21 year old son in tow. Time is weird.

This is one of the places I have to eat at every time I come to chicago. The breakfast burrito is literally everything. I would surround my entire life around this one meal because it is so delicious. Also every single person I’ve spoken to who works at this establishment has been nothing but the sweetest people ever

Server was incredibly rude throughout every interaction. I did not see it posted anywhere that you had to be 21 to just eat, so once our under age friend arrives he very rudely says “you can’t be in here”. If this is a rule it need to be clear, especially when there are children everywhere. Not impressed.

Hard to fault. Nice dive-y tavern, good food, staff were helpful and responsive. I got a Caesar wrap, it was too big to eat and tasted excellent. The Diet Coke was cold and refreshing. I hate giving 5 across the board because it feels uncritical, but here we are. You’ve seen it, I’ve seen it. Hopefully not too many others see it.

I went here in a Friday night around 5:30. It was not too crowded, me and my family if 3 were able to sit on the heated patio. Great beer menu, kid friendly, french fries are hand cut style unclear if they are freshly cut, and the ambiance gives neighborhood dive with strollers. Take that how you would like, I was a fan as a person with a child. I had to come here because I am a CCSW (Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap) aficionado and people brag about it. I was not unimpressed but also was not overly impressed, it’s a good sandwich. It didn’t have croutons, hardly any parm cheese, and the Caesar dressing was sweet. It was romaine lettuce, chicken was good, but the sweetness of the dressing was a turn off. Overall a 6/10 for the CCSW. They also have a set of hot sauces, most of them were empty but the thought was there. Definitely somewhere to try. They have a big pretzel that comes with pimento cheese which also didn’t hit, but it was good. Def good for families.
