This place delivers where it matters: execution and consistency. I ordered the meat lovers Sicilian slice, and it was dialed in. The sausage and pepperoni were assertive and well-seasoned, not bland filler, and the bottom crust stayed crisp on every bite—no sogginess, no shortcuts. Dough was properly cooked, which is where most shops fail.
Service efficiency was a differentiator. We were served immediately, which stood in stark contrast to the operational chaos next door. We initially considered Momma Too and L’Industrie Pizzeria, but both had lines so long it bordered on absurd—like they were giving food away for free. No slice is worth that kind of wait.
Net assessment: Village Square Pizza outperforms on speed, quality, and overall value. Given the choice, this is the rational decision over the hype-driven alternatives.

Great place for a quick slice! The pizza is good. The guy behind the counter is very friendly and super good looking! Lots of interesting pizza flavors here. This place is not run of the mill. This is an elevated pizzaria. Also they have outdoor seating.

Tasty square pizza. Pepperoni and white pizza both good. Very filling. We split 3 slices between 2 people but I think one slice is plenty.

Our final stop on our West Village pizza tour was The Village Square Pizza, and it was such a sweet way to end the day!
Their pizzas are fluffy yet still have a nice crunch, and the toppings are super creative. My absolute favorite was the white pizza—it honestly tasted like eating a sweet cloud. I’m pretty sure they mix ricotta with honey, and it’s magical. We also loved the roasted eggplant on marinara—so flavorful and comforting.
The interior is cozy and feels like a charming little café. Seating is limited, so it’s more of a grab-and-go or quick-bite kind of place, but it’s worth the stop.
Highly recommend it if you’re looking for something a little different but still delicious on your NYC pizza adventure!

My favourite pizza place in NYC, and the best pizza I’ve had in a very long time. Cheese, margherita, siciliana all amazing. Only thing I’d say is that it’s not consistent – sometimes the pizzas taste a little different. But when they’re good, they’re incredible.

Disclaimer: I have not tried enough pizza in NYC to be qualified on the subject, but I like to eat.
I quite liked the texture of this pizza. I got the pepperoni and it was delicious. The dough was soft and crispy underneath. The sauce flavor was solid, good amount of cheese, and the pepperoni was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Since I have nothing to critique, I’ll give it 5/5. However, I may re-review after trying some more.

Really lovely pizza spot that I would definitely come back to. I really enjoyed the slices, and I’m surprised there aren’t more people lining up. Perhaps it’s because they are very close to L’Industrie, but I think this place is not too far off in terms of quality. I enjoyed the classic slice and the pepperoni Sicilian pie equally. My partner got the buffalo chicken, which I liked more than I thought I would. They have some really interesting flavours, though, and I would love to come back and try more. Solid pizza with very little wait—I dig it!

Village Square Pizza in the West Village is an absolute gem! The slices here are truly unique, standing out from the usual New York pizza spots with their incredible flavor and top-notch ingredients. Every bite is bursting with quality, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each slice. It’s underrated compared to the more well-known spots, but that’s what makes it even better. If you’re looking for a delicious and distinctive pizza experience, this is the place to go. 5/5. Also, open late!

I’m not usually compelled to review slice shops but a 4.4 here is egregious. Chewy dough not even cooked through. Hardly warmed. And abrasive lighting in the shop. Not sure if six dollars a slice is just par for the course around here, but as I write this, I’m trying to finish this marinara slice and I’m very disappointed. Don’t go here.

I’m a big fan of Village Square Pizza. When my wife lived in the lower east side, I used to eat at that location every time I wanted pizza. Their pepperoni cup pizza is incredible and some of my favorite anywhere, especially with hot honey. But I found out yesterday how good their white slice is. Had it fresh out of the oven and MAN it’s good. If I’m ever in the mood for a second slice, this will now fight for that spot with vodka sauce. In short, eat pizza here, it’s so damn good, I love it!
