Friendly staff, great affordable menu, very good breakfast. I’d definitely stop in here again. Staff were all very friendly. The view from the windows are beautiful, I didn’t sit next to it so I couldn’t take a picture.

A great little dinner full of happy people and great food. The corn chowder was fresh full of bacon and goodness. The hot open steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and gravy was tops. The cuban sandwich was very good too. Im from soflo so i know cubanos this was pretty close. More butter on the outside of the pressed bread and you have it! Over all A

Avoid the so-called French onion soup. A can of Campbell’s, two barely melted slices of Swiss cheese and a fistfull of croutons is NOT how to make French Onion Soup.

In nearly 40 years, I don’t EVER recall not finishing an order of French onion soup… until now. It was awful. Nearly tasteless.

The burger and fries saved this from getting one star – they were pretty good.

So happy the Hardwick Village restaurant is still open, amidst the construction and chaos of the town. Centrally located smack dab on corner of 15 and 14 this dinner style eatery has a great menu featuring all day breakfast (a plus+ 🙂 and a variety of tasty soups, salads and unique burgers; main course items too. Their cup of soup and half a sandwich selection really hit the spot! A quaint atmosphere, reasonable prices and super friendly service, makes this little gem the Heart of Hardwick. ❤️

Delicious food, great location, very pleasant service. The food tastes like it’s made with care, none of that premade stuff. The fried chicken sandwich was real chicken breast, served VERY hot and fresh, on a surprisingly delicious bun. The service was attentive without being interruptive, and everything was exactly as ordered. The location is awesome, right above the river, and with a parking lot. Would definitely recommend.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and were blown away by the amazing food and service! We had a burger, the Reuben with tater tots, and tomato bisque. My goodness, everything was perfect. And I swear, it was the best tomato bisque I’ve ever had in my entire life (and I worked for a fine dining seafood restaurant for a decade…). Can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a must! Thank you so much to the lovely staff!

Hardwick is a great little town and this diner has been a central feature forever. It’s clean and some tables overlook the river. At times the kitchen service can be slow, but the food is always good. They are open for breakfast and lunch and breakfast is served all day. Their corned beef hash is made in-house and is excellent. They always have a selection of pies. Other foods are typical diner fare. We don’t like their chili, we think it is tasteless and soft. But the soups are nice. Staff is usually busy but pleasant. New favorites are the tomato bisque with a grilled cheese sandwich, the western sandwich and eggs Benedict. The hamburgers are good. I’m told the pancakes and French toast are great – and they are served with real Vt maple syrup.

Eating here has basically become a morning tradition as I drive to work. Lynn, my server, is absolutely lovely. I’ve never had a place where my name and order were known, and it feels really good to walk in and have a friendly conversation over coffee that’s been poured as I walk up to the counter. There’s nothing like good diner food, and theirs doesn’t disappoint!!

Food was good. Corned beef hash & eggs. French toast on the side. Excellent waitress. I got it to go and ate around the corner at the picnic table area. Really nice view. Hash was a little overcooked, potatoes were slightly burnt but overall was a decent breakfast.

I’ve been coming here for a decade and this is easily the best diner on the east coast. The food is amazing, the prices are impossible to beat, an amazing location. This will forever be my favorite restaurant.
