Village Pizza & Seafood (Pasadena)

Haven’t hit up village Pizza in a few years. I forgot how good it is. The food is hot and fresh. Very delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere you can tell that it is an older restaurant. Went there with a friend. She’s never been wanted to try it. She went with the pizza combo and was very happy with it. I had the shrimp po boy combo. Starting with a pizza my friend didn’t like that It was and oily pizza but I actually enjoyed it. I want to say it wasn’t gross oily. It was just good. Can’t really explain it. It was just a little bit more oily than if you cooked it at home. And this pizza being oily didn’t make it like soggy or anything. The crust was very good. Very crunchy and in my book. That’s a plus when you find a place that has a fresh oily pizza, but though crust is still crunchy even from the bottom. I want to say the crust did it for me but going to the cheese. I want to say the cheese was very hot and I could tell that it was good fresh cheese and it kind of was like overpowering the pepperoni and to me that was a good thing. I have a pizza oven at home and it did remind me of the cheese I use when I make pizza at home and the pizza oven. Pepperoni came out just right overall pizza I’d say a 9 out of 10 for me. Now for the shrimp Po boy it was good. It was very messy because it had a lot of tartar sauce in it and think of a sandwich when you eat it. The tartar sauce was all over my hands and face. It was a bit too much tartar sauce for me at times. That’s all I could taste. Was tartar sauce even though I had bit into a piece of shrimp. I know some people like a lot of tartar sauce or a lot of sauce on their po-boy, but I think next time I’ll just ask for light tartar sauce. The bread on the Po boy sandwich was nicely toasted. It did have a good crunch to it. And the shrimp and a light crunchy batter to it with good flavor. The po-boy sandwich came with french fries. And a few years back when we used to eat at village Pizza all the time it was always pizza and a basket of fries. The fries were cooked perfectly and were hot and fresh . very firm and crispy right down to the last few fries. So for the fries I give him a 9 out of 10. To me they were very good. I don’t like my fries with a lot of salt I like being able to taste the actual potato. For the Po boy sandwich I’m going to give it an 7.5 out of 10. The sandwich is very good. The shrimp was really good too. I did like the bread, the crispiness and the way it was toasted. But what got me the most was the amount of tartar sauce that was in the sandwich. The tartar sauce itself was very good and delicious. You could tell that it’s homemade tartar sauce. It was thick and creamy and not too tart. But again the amount of tartar sauce that was put in there was a lot a few times when I bit into the sandwich. That’s all I could taste and it was coming out the ends and I had it on both ends and on my face and I quickly ran through are in napkins I do recommend the pizza. You have to try it at least once. You might be pleasantly surprised. I know I will be ordering more pizza very soon.

HORRIBLE!!! Ordered a small $28 meat pizza and added mushrooms from Doordash. The Pizza was burnt, hardly any toppings, cold and so hard you could barely bite into it. I don’t know why it came from this Pasadena location when the other location on Market St was literally 10 minutes down the street from where I was at. Thats where it normally comes from and their food is excellent! I would add pictures but I don’t see an option to do that.

Honestly, so far one of the best pizza places I have been too in Houston & was my first time ever eating at a pizza parlor, the workers seemed very busy and well concerned for the customers during a hard time with no electricity in the state of Texas, the food is very affordable and well cooked, I give it 4stars because they didn’t give out essentials nor peppers or cheese and they aren’t giving out change and didn’t give me a explanation. (Maybe because of this hard time) I would definitely trying out other foods besides the pizza but I am a pizza man!

I ordered the Chef Salad which I’ve gotten from different Village Pizzas and what I got was trash.
It only had old iceberg lettuce, the cabbage was brown. Only had ham rolled with cheese none of the usually pastrami meats. No purple onions but 1 white onion. This was a wash of money

Usually get way more fries than this. Have they changed something???? Barley got any with my meal also, the first time I went the cook was pressing on my food with his bare hands, no gloves and putting his hands basically all over my food. I should have said something. That is not okay at all
