The founders had humble beginnings, starting up the pizza business in a single room in the back of Casa Vieja, which can still be found north of Village Pizza on Corrales Rd. From Casa Vieja, the shop moved into the old adobe building that was a house, turned bar, turned Mongolian restaurant and then turned it into Village Pizza. The work was not easy, and most of the construction changes were done by the owners themselves with some help from family and friends. Today Village Pizza has grown into two locations, but we are still making the same pizza that has been loved and consumed by the Village of Corrales and Albuquerque for almost 3 decades.

The pizza took while to come out which I don’t mind because it was glorious and fresh and gave us plenty of time to eat our large salad but it was delivered to another table, left at that table with the couple then taken back to the kitchen then brought to our table. I told the waitress and she said they could “rush” a fresh one but considering we’d already waited about 30 minutes and the restaurant was much busier I just decided to keep the one they brought to us.
Please, if you swing by and try any of the delicious food, ask for Vita. Vita exudes what customer service is all about. She was kind, friendly, fast, and helpful.
The food was outrageously good. From the soup to the pizza and the wings in between. We ate like kings and enjoyed every bite.
Dang. These people are so helpful, friendly, and just know how to make it happen. Mireya helped me at the register, and her friendliness and kindness really stood out. She needs a raise, like now. She was never without a smile, and was willing to be patient with people’s questions, and providing service, even when the rush was going on. Enoch was super helpful with accommodating us, ensuring that we had a comfortable time in the dining room. I was concerned that it would be too hot in the dining room, and he went out of his way to make sure the ceiling fans were turned on, even when he wasn’t sure that they were operational. This crew rules!
Food:
Our food came out very promptly, without having to ask them to check on our order. And it didn’t come out too fast, so we know the food was made with care and it took time to make. The pizza was amazing. I ordered a smoked ham pie, half with pineapple, and half with bell pepper. So good! The sauce was sweet and flavorful, without stealing the show. The cheese was perfectly melted, and the toppings were neither too little, nor too much. The crust was perfectly cooked, to where you could hold a slice from the crust and it wouldn’t flop. So crispy and flavorful.
Atmosphere: Very homey, with lots of character very clearly shown throughout the whole restaurant. It’s a great place to sit and eat. My only criticism is that there was no music playing, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. It’s pretty much a non-issue.
Eat here!
