First time trying the Pantry after seeing one of their social media videos on a local community page (keep them up, they’re working). I looked at their specialty hoagies and found the Messina, which conveniently had the exact meats and toppings I would have ordered if I were building it from scratch. This was a stellar hoagie. It looked beautiful when unwrapped and tasted even better. The seeded roll was crisp on the outside and soft in the center. The greenery was crispy and fresh, far from the soggy wilted junk often served at other places. And one of my favorite things: this may be the first hoagie in my history (and trust me, there have been many both local and downtown) where my request for extra vinegar was understood and executed with vigor. I don’t know why so many places are afraid to put the double-X in exxtra which far too often requires a healthy shower of sour once I get home, but the Pantry heard it loud and clear and delivered. Sad I waited so long to give them a try. I will be back!

I didn’t make it out the parking lot. The sandwich was packed with meat and toppings. Every bite was evenly distributed. Amazing flavor and customer service with a smile.

I visit the Village Pantry probably at least 3 or 4 days a week. Every time Angelica and her staff are as friendly and welcoming as could be asked.
Most recently I had the most delicious ham and cheese hoagie. The bread was perfectly fresh, the ham was sliced just right, and the cheese paired beautifully. The combination of flavors was spot on, and the hoagie was generously packed. Match that sandwich up with a bag of chips, a drink, and the experience is even better!
