Such a cozy and welcoming Mediterranean spot. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt warm and inviting, and the owner, Jamal, was incredibly kind and accommodating. He took the time to explain the menu and you can truly tell that everything is made with love and care—it tastes genuinely homemade.
The chicken shawarma platter was amazing: the meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The hummus was fresh, smooth, and full of flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were high quality. Every bite felt authentic and comforting.
What really stood out, though, was the attention and hospitality we received. Service like that makes the whole experience special. Definitely a place I would come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

A great place that’s gotten even better!
It’s been about 7-9 years since my last visit, and I’m really glad we came back to Village Gyro in Flemington. The previous owners already had a solid spot with good food, but this location is now under new ownership, and they’ve taken it to the next level.
The space is now clean, beautiful, and modern, while still keeping the welcoming feel that made it good before. It’s no longer the old store/deli-style setup, the updates make a big difference.
The owner is super friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent. You can tell they care about both the food and the customer experience.
If you liked this place years ago, you’ll be happy to see how much it’s improved. Definitely worth checking out (or revisiting). We’ll be back!

Our favorite local Greek restaurant has undergone a facelift! What hasn’t changed is the excellent food being served. The menu has been revised and is undergoing some subtle transformations. New and exciting things are on the horizon! But our old favorites that kept us coming back for years are still served and still delicious.
Jamal, The new owner is also an accomplished chef. This boat‘s well for future developments. He is engaging with the customers and intently, keen on developing a brand that will remain attractive for years to come.
If you haven’t been, give it a try. If you have been a customer, rest assured that excellence is still the name of the game.

Under the new owners, the Village Gyro is excellent! We ordered takeout on Wednesday 12/31 and we were not disappointed. My wife ordered the Gyro Platter. The meat was lamb that was flavorful, moist and tender. I ordered the Roasted Leg of Lamb. Again, the lamb was cooked perfectly and was tender and moist. The roasted vegetables were awesome.

We really enjoyed our trip to this restaurant. The food is delicious, authentically prepared from fresh ingredients, and delightful to behold.
We had the Gemista, Moussaka, and open faced Gyro with lamb. We also had the Greek coffee. The Gemista was very tasty and full of flavor, from the rice meat stuffing to the lightly baked red and green pepper shells. The Moussaka was really good. The Gyro was really tasty and enjoyable. Even the salad and coffee were special ! Thanks to the top notch service this was a great visit. We will be coming back!

Village Gyro is under new management. Unfortunately I had to find out the hard way. I ordered the sautéed shrimp with high expectations based on past experience. So to say I was more than disappointed is an understatement statement. Rice was dry and mushy. No feta and the spices were off. I should have been informed that they were under new management and they have changed the way this dish is prepared. Will not be returning to this restaurant.
